Great hire! This guy has tons of upside!

Great move by Ross, it actually seems like he has some decent advisers behind the scene after all.

No big deal that there's not a GM in place. The GM we bring in will be in charge of talent evaluating, and bringing in players. A glorified Head of Scouting if you will.

And like Lazor, there are plenty of young, hungry, highly qualified scouting execs that will jump at the chance to head our scouting dept and yet hold the title of GM (and get paid like one too).

Philbin: decision maker on coaching hires.
New GM: in charge of accumulating talent
Dawn Aponte: in charge of contracts and cap management
Ross and Co.: Managing the FO personnel.

Great Point. We were only going to get a Newbie or someone who failed elsewhere. Successful OC's become head coaches.

Don't get too excited about this hire, just be pleased that Sherman is out and new blood, young blood is now in place to help produce a thriving offense. We all know what didn't happen. We can all go over the dismal stats on the running game, the sacks, the lack of imagination etc.... It all comes down to this fellow assessing the current players and talent and addressing what can be done with them to make it a good offense. Weaknesses must be weeded out.

Philbin, the new GM (whomever it will be) and Bill Lazor must work in concert to produce a competitive team.
