I'd keep Grimes, Soliai, and Starks.

Clemons was solid, but I would not sign him for crazy money.

Tre mason = a smaller Trent Richardson? We already have Lamar Miller, same type of back. need a hammer like Legarrete Blount.

Toby Gerhart? Likely wouldn't consider phins unless a great offer

mason seems like a totally different kind of back than richardson or miller. reminds me of MJD

If you want an underachieving, injury prone running back with 5 career TD's. Oh yeah that's right up Ireland's alley!

Keep Solai, Grimes, Starks, Richie, Watkins yeatman and Keller. Rest can go kick rocks. Carroll if he took a paycut.

Watkins and Yeatman? Really? Haven't these guys eaten up enough roster space for long enough.

Watkins was a former 1st round pick at G and never did anything last year AND was cut by the team who drafted him.

Yeatman has sat around long enough "being developed". Now he is coming off an injury. See ya.

Richie? No way in hell. Forget the fact that he is bad juju and an idiot....he gave up 6 sacks in 8 games. This will never happen.

In Ireland's defense, he only had about 30 mil in cap space, The number 12 OA pick, 2-seconds, 2-thirds and the rest of the draft to fix the o-line. drinking smiley

I would not keep very many of them as our run defense sucked this past year, and our pass rush disappeared when this team needed it the most. So I say bring in new players as well as a new scheme last year did not work.

The defense was on the field non-stop. You think they may have been suffering from fatigue a bit during those losses? We know what kind of player Cam Wake is and there was a reason he disappeared as well.

They need to can the zone blocking scheme. Are we supposed to dismiss quality offensive linemen because they don't fit in our stupid zone blocking scheme. The Ravens switched to a zone blocking scheme this year and they never got their running game together. They let Ben Grubbs a great run blocking G go to the Saints and guesse who is still playing now.

Screw zone blocking.

You can do even better than that!

1) INCOGNITO- Gone, from Day One. Too bad: he was Pro Bowl calibre PARCELLSBALL not long ago, and would've been tradeable. No more!

2) CLABO- Gone, but NOT until his replacement is signed, sealed and delivered...we've made THAT mistake before: why do it again?

3) YEATMAN and WATKINS- Gone. Both have shown zippo. Time to look elsewhere.

4) KELLER- Gone. We now KNOW where CLAY should be lining up, and it ain't as a Goddam H-Back. And I like SIMS as well...at least as a blocking TE, but I think he'll deliver more than that! Get a real FB for the lead-blocking, if you must, and QED. If MIAMI can't even see THAT much, then FORGET ABOUT IT! P.S.: The money saved is a great "fringe benefit".

5) STARKS- Gone. BIG saving of cap space.

6) CARROLL- KEEP. He played reasonably well this year, and is arguably our 2nd or 3rd best CB. Solid CBs don't grow on trees, so you keep as many as you can. At $630,000, you can't go wrong.

7) SOLIAI- Keep. Give him his payday: he's worth it!

8) GRIMES- Keep. He pretty much shuts down 1/2 of the field.

9) THE REST- Keep...for now. If someone better at the same position comes along, FINE! MIAMI'll be in a position to do WHATEVER is best.

The Saving should be c. $21,365,000, or thereabouts.

Those players are not under contract and do not count against the salary cap. How exactly are we saving anything? We still have to resign someone to fill their place IF we don't resign them.

We are reported to have around 28 mil in cap space. We need to find a starting......

LT, LG, RG, RT, FS, DT & CB

Beyond that we need.....

CB3, Better o-line reserves, upgrade at ILB, WLB and DT3.

Hopefully the new GM can get Dimitri Patterson to cut his salary (or cut him) and Mike Wallace to restructure his contracts to free up some of the 17 mil he counts against the cap this year.

Also...a HB who can block, SS and TE.

We can also free up 5.4 mil if we have to release Dimitri and about 1m if we cut Daniel Thomas.

Once again we have dead weight in the top salaries of the cap. Wheeler and Ellerbe count about 14 mil but we can cut each in half if do the June 1st desgnation OR get creative with a trade.

That's an additional 13 mil in cap space for 2014. 41 million in cap space ought to do the trick to fill those gaps.

I doubt they carry 3 QB's again, I wonder if Moore's days are numbered?
