I am proud we end up better than I thought only a month ago. The team is young and will only get better. We need a better "O" line and a few holes filled and we should be good.

We are Good. But we have a bridge to Gap before we turn great. Our weakness are glaring now . This season was like that red dye they inject so Doctors can check for issues. Everything wrong is out there for Ireland to correct and address. He has no excuses after this season.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

I thought 10-6 was the best we could get out of this team and we damn go near there. 7-9 was my worst and we are on game ahead of there aleady. I thing (sh** I think everyone does) the oline is our number 1 problem. We will have to sign 2 f/a agents and probably use 2 of our top 3 picks in the next draft.

Offensive line and Linebackers are two of the weaknesses for sure.

I would not mind a new offensive coordinator.

I thought we'd finish 8-8 and the best we could hope for was 10-6...pretty close to right on the money.

I'm dismayed by the way we played at times this year, and also by the poor playcalling at times, as are many of you. But I'm encouraged by the fact that we've been competitive each week (with the exception of one game and one half of one game)

We are going in the right direction but we do need some tweaks and a healthy dose of playmakers to go along with three new starting O-Linemen (Mckinnie, Brenner, and Pouncy should be brought back but the only one that should be an automatic starter is Pouncey) and a couple of additions on defense. (one LB, one CB and one S)

New offensive line coach for sure. I watched the 4th quater of the Ravens/Pats game and even though the Ravens were losing there oline played the outside blitz very well. The C/G & tacke swung to the left in concert. I was like 'why cannot our line figure it out'. I still think Pouncey is not calling out the blitzes correctly or some guys are not listening.

I think we need a stud MLB now and move Ellerbe ot the strong side. Bye bye Misi.

I think our O-Line simply isn't athletic enough nor do they have quick enough feet to play in the WCO. The only O-Line players on the team that were selected or otherwise aquired after we installed the WCO are...

Brenner...has been starting and holding his own...mostly.
Thomas...played in 5 games so far.
Arkin...has not played.
Weaver...played in 3 games so far.
and Martin...gone.

It's not just our O-Line, though. The RBs are the ones that are missing the blitz's most often. Did you catch when Thomas ran into Tanny when trying to pick up the blitzing DB? Pitiful!

Who are the Top best Oline free agents? We need to spend a little Ca$h that way. We ought to be able to loosen up the change because Martin and Iggy will be gone. Claybo is HISTORY. I might let him open the door to the practice facility but that's just about it.

A Blocking Fullback , 3rd down maker would be nice too. We should have signed that guy from Baltimore (name escapes me). A Better blocking Tight end as well.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

we just extended Misi so why do you think the team would get rid of him?
worst signing was Phillip Wheeler to that big contract. Typical Ireland bonehead move--this guy was training camp fodder (including with us) and then had once decent year last year with the Raiders and we dump Dansby for him (pro bowler this year) and worst of all overpay him to a big $$ deal

Life is full of ups and downs (peaks and valleys). Yesterday's dismal performance put the team as a whole, right at rock bottom of that valley. Now, it's up to everyone, from HC down to the locker room scrub, to reach down, shake this off, take a deep breath and unite with new found energy, vigor and enthusiasm to play hard and beat the Jets. That includes a viable game plan.

If they can't bounce back, it's definitely time to make some critical moves with the existing coaching staff and unresponsive players.

Saying anything more, is akin to kicking a decaying, dead horse.

Yeah, my personal 'bar' for this season was set at 8-8...if we made it to that, I'd consider it a success. I didn't expect a playoff run this year from this group (but I *do* expect one next year). When Keller got hurt, that stunk but injuries happen every year. When the Martin/incog happened, then I knew that going at least 8-8 would count as a successful year, given all the circumstances.

But my expectations for next year will be much higher. Draft well, maybe replace an assistant or two, and go phins!

Agree completely. But I really think the OC Sherman needs to go for Tannehill to reach his potential. For the Dolphins to have any success at all.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

why were your standards set so low. we won 6 or 7 games last year and added $120mm in FAs as well as the #3 pick in the draft. I expect playoffs for that, frankly I expect at least 1 playoff win. this is a league where teams go worst to first. look at KC. why should we expect only a 1 or 2 win improvement?

**********************************************

My hope for the year was for the Fins to just play well and be in every game, and give NE a run for their money.

I really don't know what to say about yesterday's loss to Buffalo, especially after the way Miami has been playing lately.

The problems the team had been having is still occurring, so it basically boils down to what can, whomever the GM will be, do personnel-wise this off season?

Lot of work to be done.

That's basically what I meant when I wrote "maybe replace an assistant or two" I guess it's not a 'maybe'

So I am wondering - did they show they can do "far better" because of excellent work by Ireland in bringing in talent, or by great coaching? I'm confused here, because you want everyone fired but seem to think this team has shown some great things.

Well we made 8-8 so that reflects our horrible coaching. I do not think we will win Sunday. Even if we do Baltimore will not lose.

Is it coaching or talent?

Do you think our OL coach would do better with an O-line made up of Two OT's who were 1st round picks, pair of guards who were 2nd & 3rd's and 4th round center who are all in their prime and who were selected for the offense they play in?

Their oldest OL is 29.

Our starting LT was their back up LT. Our starting LG was is an undrafted rookie FA. Our RG was drafted for a different offense. Our RT is a 32 year old cast off who was also an undrafted rookie .

The only guy on our Oline who could possibly get playing time on the Ravens is Pouncey.

I think comparing our oline to theirs isn't a fair comparison by any stretch. And I think grading our Oline coach based on the production of a unit he'd give his left nut to have is even more of a stretch.

If we were 8-8 with "horrible coaching" then our GM must be doing one hell of a job bringing in talent to overcome that coaching.

I wouldn't call it horrible coaching, I'd call it vanilla coaching.
In this day and age of "parity" with vanilla coaching all you will get is a game or two from a .500 record, give or take.
You win some that you're not supposed to win and you lose some that you should have won. That's where we are, where a 140 million dollar offseason spending spree can't get you out of that vanilla zone.
