We are finally here. Most of us (if not all of us) are disappointed with the 2021 Dolphins season. We expected much more...perhaps 10 wins and a play off bound team. During that string of losses it was truly dismal to be a fan. Talking heads on TV pooh-poohed the team and then suddenly a win, then another and another. The team turned it around and our hopes rose again. Maybe we can squeak into the playoff rounds. With a big Monday Night Football win--things looked brightest. Then the big loss to the Titans threw the team out of the play-off picture. Disappointment and unhappiness with a struggling offense reared its ugly head even higher than before. What will the Dolphins do next season to improve their weak spots?
It is obvious that the offense needs to be upgraded. Enough said.
Sunday's game with the Patriots may be determinative of what happens immediately with a look toward free agency and retention as well as fortifying offensive line positions. Center, Guard R Tackle?
Because we play the Patriots, I do hope we have a good game plan and can execute to win the game. That is appealing and would provide a modicum of satisfaction to end the season.
I just watched a brief post season Q and A with Brian Flores. Damn, he should have been exuberant about the way the team responded following the trouncing by the Titans. He wasn't. He sounded like he lost his best friend, quiet, almost mumbling in his comments. His demeanor seemed a bit off to me considering the team beat the Patriots twice this season.
Flores is likely hearing the same rumors that we are, that Jim Harbaugh might be returning to the NFL and Ross' fascination for him.
Flores doesn't know for sure how secure his job is.
