Yes and some players take longer to adjust to the NFL and learn the offense. You have to realize how different or similar the WR's new NFL offense is to their college offense. Jackson came from California where they ran a west coast spread style offense and went to a west coast offense. Ginn came from Jim Tressels's conservative ball control offense. The Buckeyes' under Tressel, eight-year national ranking in total offense averages 68th and has never cracked the top 25 in any season.

I am not really drawing any conclusions I am just curious of people opinion why the disparity in numbers when looking at them they have similar skill sets
> Ginn played on a 1-15 team with a ball control
> offense and such passing luminaries as John Beck
> and Cleo Lemon tossing him the ball.
Well Dwayne Bowe was drafted #23 thats 16 picks later than ginn (same draft)
Rookie year: 70 rec 995 yards 5 TD's on a terrible 4-12 team which featured 3 different qb's as well (D.Huard, B.Croyle and a sprinkle of Y.thigpen) He seems to have handled that pretty well. And just to add L.Johnson rushed for only 559 yards that year
> Jackson played in a pass happy offense with a

> the NFC championship game but one that has enough
> talent on and off the field to have been there 5
> times in the past 7 years.
Actually this is the way I feel as well, jackson had SOOO many chances to put up numbers. If ginn is in the same situation I think he should be able to do the same. This is the major reason why I think he is not right for us and the direction we are going.
> Suffice to say that while their skill sets are
> somewhat similar, their circumstances couldn't be
> anymore opposite than they were.
True they are similar and while Jackson had much more opportunity and a superior QB i feel ginns numbers should be better than they are
You switch them teams and you can prolly switch the statistics as well. But if the Phins open up the offense, and with your running game, I can see Ginn putting up D-Jack numbers with Pennington at the helm. Phins just have a total different offensive phillosophy.
Also Ginn was the only receiver we had. He was playing really well when the team had to cover him and Camarillo. But when the defense focused solely on him.. It's kind of hard.
