Vincent Taylor has played approximately 100 less snaps this season than Spence and Godchaux respectively and has better numbers. Taylor has 193 snaps 14 tackles 10 assists and 2 sacks. Davon Godchaux 308 snaps, 15 tackles, 8 assists, 0 sacks. Akeem Spence 274 snaps, 8 tackles, 11 assists, and 0 sacks.
The obvious question is why isn't Taylor getting more playing time? Is it a conditioning thing? What am I not seeing? I thought the mantra was the best players are going to play. How is Taylor not the best DT on the team right now? It's things like this that make me scratch my head about the decision making of the coaches. Just one of many things.
The other thing that I'm not really sure I understand is why not play Fitzpatrick at boundary corner and put McCain back in the slot. McCain is too small to cover the big receivers in this league and Fitzpatrick is supposed to be the "Swiss Army Knife" of the defense. I know that he's supposed to be safety but he played some corner in college and if he can't play corner better than McCain or McTyer, I'm not thrilled that they spent a 1st rounder for him.

Colonel, I wonder how things might be different if instead of Burke we had someone like Wade Phillips in charge of the defense. If I'm right, and Gase doesn't want experienced assistants because he's insecure of his own status, it's a perfect example of irony in that his insecurity makes his chances of succeeding all the more unlikely.

The first couple of games, Fitz was playing corner (slot?), and playing well. Then injuries to CB position started and now they need Fitz to fill other roles and McCain went to corner.
Fitz to play a different role
