Actually the old logo is beginning to look a little goofy in comparison now.
I can only imagine what is was like back in 1966, when they unveiled the original logo. I was just born in Miami, and didn't get the full impact at the time.
But if I were of a discerning age back then, I might have been really disappointed. A little porpoise jumping in front of an off-centered sun, wearing a little helmet with an M on it....really?!
But as with everything, winning can make any logo look cool.
If it wasn't for the early-mid 70s, the logo may have been changed a long time ago.
I think it's a perfect time to update and modernize the whole image of the organization. New QB, coach, a lot of young upcoming players, a new century, a new age. A winning age. I'm all for it!

I have no feelings one way or another about the logo.
However, dolphin, I beginning to not agree with people who say that you are DolfanKing.
DolfanKing is positive about everything about our team EXCEPT Tannehill.
I seem to pick up that you are NEGATIVE abut EVERYTHING about our team. Maybe, however, this is just an instance in which you are with the majority about the logo.
If we start winning, I love the new logo. We should only wear the old uni's when we are deserving of wearing them. I am all for the change. This team needed rebranding, you all have to agree.
Its a FOOTBALL logo. Not animal planet. Its supposed to be cartoonish. Its supposed to evoke a feeling , not represent the animal . The new logo represents Ross more then any football qualities IMO. I'm all for changing it up some. I agree a fresh new look and start is a great idea to go with what we are trying to put behind us. But that Fish just looks so lame.
I happen to Love seascapes. I own several Of them around my home. I have Pictures of natural Dolphins everywhere. Beautiful creatures that no doubt attracted me to the team in the first place as a child growing up in NYC. But I just feel Football logos need to be exaggerations to best represent a Team. When Jimmy Johnson last changed the Logo in 96 to a meaner Phin I LOVED it. The slight changes said so much more. It represented his philosophy and what he expected. It paid off with the best defense this Team has ever had.
Now I look at that Fish and I just want to go buy a fruity drink at Ross's star studded night club with J-Lo. It represents him to a T.
I won't cry about it anymore. It is what it is. They are not taking it back. Much more important things going on I suppose. But I DO NOT like it one bit. Hopefully the rest of the new uniforms help make up for it.
We cudda had jimmie buffit or maybe jiminy cricket but no we had to stick to a lame porpoise that's not even known to kill indiscriminately! I mean we need to get down with the current kill any stray sob on a whim with 2 38's between the Ladies eyes.
We have a passive Dolphin logo and a fight song which is about Sharks, natural enemies of the Dolphins... A result of the FO and or owner being clueless about Dolphins, sharks and south florida...

I've never had a problem with the old logo, in fact, the old uniforms matched the logo very well.
The new logo? I am not sure what to think. I will wait until the new uniform comes out to see how it matches up.

I agree. The Jimmy Johnson era log is cartoonish and silly looking when you see them side by side. I guess that's sort of fitting when you think about it.
If you've ever seen real dolphins in huge schools, bow riding, or just in migration. When they effortlessly "porpoise", and fly through the air, it is quite an awe inspiring sight.
Have seen it many times myself, off the SoCal coast over the last 30 years. Having seen the power and speed, agility and athleticism that those amazing creatures possess first hand, I think the new logo captures those characteristics very well.

That is true. Unfortunately the Majority of the population , especially those in the huge inner cities that the NFL represent Have only seen a Dolphin in the Movies or on TV. So all our mascot represents is a fish. As well as any Guppy at your local Wal-Mart. Perception is everything. That's why we have comic books and Superheroes. They play to peoples imaginations. That's why this new "realistic" Logo belongs at Sea world , not on a NFL logo representing a new attitude for this team.

Agreed. Not like we have any choice in the matter. Well I do. I won't be buying any of Rosses merchandise. Something tells me he will be all right finically though.
Look at it as an opportunity guys, to get the women in your life some appealing feminine apparel. They might even approve more of your long Sundays with your team once they own one of those new snazzy dolphins on their gardening, golfing or jogging cap. You could even splurge and acquire one of those new male purses for yourself(with the new logo right in the center) they are all the rage in Europe. Just think how sensitive your women will think you are, when you accessorize your outfits with the fabulous options the Ross man has given us.
Women and "wo-men" definitely like this new logo, from what I have seen so far.
