Ross, 68, made his billions as a lawyer and developer and is chairman of Related Companies, an international real estate development company. He has homes in New York and Palm Beach, and he ranked 78th in 2008 on Forbes' list of richest Americans with a net worth of $4.5 billion.
HWH was a great owner. we never had to worry whether he had money or would spend it on the team. I only hope we will be able to say the same about this new guy.

If he is so rich then how come he is going to the gvment for a bailout. How come he has to defer a ton of these payments to buy the team. the ONLY reason he got the team is cause Wayne wants out ASAP!!! Otherwise this guy didn't have the funding to buy it right now

Look at Jacksonville!! They got nothing. Next team to move
Wayne was a good owner his biggest downfall was he trusted the wrong people but he spent whatever needed to be spent to make this franchise a winner, did not work out but he tried.

Shouldn't the original post be edited also? I was only responding to the original post. Not looking for a fight with a moderator not my style just wondering.

That is a ridiculous argument... I don't have any problems paying my bills, but I certainly cashed that $600 check they sent me, and i bet you did too.
And, if they said I was eligible for more money if I filed out some paperwork, you bet your ass I would do that too. It is only smart business-sense... why pay your own bills when the government is volunteering to do it for you?
Personally, I don't see why everyone is so happy to see Wayne go?? He always spent money to get who was considered the best coaches available when we needed them, and has never skimped on paying our own stars. He has invested a TON of money back in this team and always did everything in his power to make this a competitive team. He knew his shortfalls when Don Shula and Jimmy Johnson were no longer in the mix and he needed to get a "football guy" in place to make decisions for him. Unfortunately Marino couldn't be that guy, and it has taken until now for him to find the right man for that job... but, the point is he DID. Where would this franchise be right now had he not got Parcells in the mix??
I think those that don't like HWH are just bitter about what he did to the marlins---however, no one in S Fla or anywhere else cares about the marlins, so I don't see why it should matter at all

What are you talking about paying your bills?? Ross's company is going to the Feds for a bailout to stay alive!! He isn't eligable for anything, he is asking for money. And Wayne was a terrible owner. He was terrible for NOT firing Shula sooner. He was terrible for talking JJ into staying after he "quit" the 1st time. The Wayne was terrible for listening to JJ and hiring his buddy Wannstedt. Then Wayne was terrible again after being turned down by Saban, by going back to Saban and begging him on Christmas Eve to take the Fins job (look where that got us). Wayne was a TERRBILE owner from Day 1.

Stephen Ross is a prick. Wayne may not have made all the best decisions, but he cared about the team and winning a Superbowl. Stephen Ross doesn't give a damn about this team.... You guys are going to be soooooo pissed at Stephen Ross. I know I will be pissed when he changes the uniform to make a buck! He is a little wormy ego driven prick, and it's a sad, sad,sad day for this Dolphin fan
I Guarantee you guys are going to HATE this little worm in 2.5 years... I am going to go back to crying on my pillow

NOW YOU'VE GONE AND PISSED ME OFFFFFFFFF! I AM A MARLINS FAN.
Wayne was a good owner, the players wanted to come here because he treated his people right and he stayed out of the decisions and let the experts do it.
I wouldn't even say he made bad decisions so much as they worked out poorly. Any decision can be hit by lightning and go bad.
