It's not too early to talk Super Bowl for Dolphins

After what I saw this year, I can say without hesitation that the coaching staff,Wayne, and Bill are gunning for a title win within the next two seasons. Not to say that every year we've wanted a SB, (of course) but this past season was more elevated in every way. I haven't seen this type of team in Miami for 10 years at least. What do I think we need to get the job done? I hope Chad Henne shows up and takes Pennington's job mid-season and shows that he is a franchise QB. I love Pennington and the effort he gave us in 2009. If we have to run with him in all of 2010 then I'll support that. But, because of Henne's arm strength I'm hoping that he will prevail, which will give Miami a better shot. What else?

OL
DL
DB

And a dominate (big) WR to open up plays for Ginn,Bess, and London. Camirillo is our go-to guy if he's healthy, but we need a big Moss/Boldin type of WR.

I think it would be a pretty unique circumstance for a team to switch QBs during a successful season absent injury to the starter. If we're making a successful push toward the playoffs with Penny at the helm, I just can't imagine the coaching staff sticking Henne in there at mid-season unless Chad's injured.

Only in Eli Manning's rookie year can I remember that happening. They sat Kurt Warner and put in Eli even though they were in the playoff race at the time. It paid off a couple years later, but not that year. He was atrocious...had a 55.4 QB rating. They dropped off the playoff radar that year.

You misunderstood me. I'm saying I hope Henne is good enough to take the job from Pennington, not have him benched for no reason- That won't happen.

While I like that we improved, I also know that our record was in part due to our schedule. If we would hve played the NFC East, I think we would have not made the play-offs. Next year we will face alot harder schedule, based on how teams played this year, and I know that those teams may not be as good next year, but they could also be better. We will have to get better in certain areas, just to be able to get back to 11-5. If we get the right players during the off-season, then we will have a good shot. But it might be the following year where we make our serious run.

??? Really? Here are the records for the AFC East this year:

Phins 11-5
Pats 11-5
Jets 9-7
Bills 7-9

That's not too shabby. The AFC East is the most competetive division in the AFC.

The NFC East had:

Giants 12-4
Eagles 9-6-1
Cowboys 9-7
Skins 8-8

I would say the AFC East is as competetive if not more-so than the NFC East. An 11-5 record in the NFC East would have gotten a wildcard. So, I don't get your logic.

I was talking about playing the NFC East versus playing the NFC West. And besides, I don't think that the AFC East was stronger than the NFC East, just because they had better records. We were better than the Bills and Jets by seasons end, but not the Pats. I think we would have struggled against every team in the NFC East except Washington and even that would still be a close game. We were able to go 11-5 because we improved in several areas and we had a weak schedule. Hopefully next year we will improve even more and still be able to produce an 11-5 record or better. Our opponents next year, on paper, will be far toughfer than what we faced this year.
