Will become a free agent and is the type of player that can start for us in our secondary kind of reminds me of Trent Gamble. About the same size and speed, and is not scared to come up and tackle despite his size. If he is available we should go after him. If he can start for the Ravens then he can start for us. One last note you guys remember Trent Gamble he was a good player for us a few years ago.

Bob sanders is like 4 feet tall and isn't afraid to come up and tackle. He is a pro bowl safety.

Size isn't everything. You also need heart.

Willford is 6'4 and has no passion for the game. No heart. At least thats what he shows in practice.

Bob Sanders has never played a full 16 games in his 5 year career either.

He is also 205 lbs which is pretty stout for only being 5'8 but for a Strong Safety that throws his body around...he just doesn't hold up too well...even at 205. He is chiseled and bulky...bug guns...etc. So he does have the size just not the height.

Just goes to show that sometimes flexibilty is just as important as muscle....

Troy Polamalu is only 207 lbs at 5'10 but is training under a different concept in order to stay healthy. It developes coordination, flexibility and stamina as opposed to bulk and power. It seems to have worked pretty well this year as he didn't miss a game.

So what is my point? Size is very important but not if you don't have flexibilty and the above mentioned things as well as heart which is always probably the most important.

I wasn't talking injury wise. I was talking about him having what other lack. He isn't afraid to hit.

He returns punts and kickoffs. I'm telling you guys watch him he is a player that is on the cusp of being a very good player in this leauge.

Yeah Leonard was impressive, remided me of a poor man's John Lynch

Remember a sleeper guy named Wes Welker most never heard of we let go?

Right now Leonard would help soidify one safety position. I think he is a very good overall player special teams included. I swear the guy reminds me of Trent Gamble. Does any one know how fast Leonard is? I think he might be the fastest defensive player on the Ravens. Any way I would like to raid the Raverns and sign Leonard and at least one line backer because we would be getting good players as well weakening the Ravens in the same process.

I agree that Jim Leonard is a quality player, but comparing him to Trent Gamble is to do Leonard and injustice. Gamble sucked.

People may not remember this. Before last season, Parcells talked about how he evaluates players. The first thing he looks at is, "does the player have the prototypical size and physical skills for the position?"

Jim Leonhard is 5'8, 186 lbs. He is about 4 inches too short and at least 20 lbs under what you want from a prototypical Strong Safety. The team likes Renaldo Hill, who is also too small for the position. But, I think they will look for a bigger player to push Hill for the starting job.

Here's hoping he doesn't get franchised. I think bringing back Bell as the SS, with Otogwe as the FS, and bringing back Hill as a 3rd S in the dime would make for a pretty strong group.

The RAVENS are in trouble, they have all 3 LBs as free agents and Leonard.

I'm wondering how many Ravens' players are having their stats inflated based on the players around them. While the Ravens DO have the best defense in the NFL, I don't believe it's because all their PLAYERS are the best in the NFL. I'm worried if we get one of their FA's that they won't live up to their billing.

Well, 3 LB's is not ALL since they run a 3-4 and Jarret Johnson is under contract.

Leonard is overhyped because he scored a TD vs Cincy but he is too tiny to hold up over time without a guy like Ray Lewis to protect him. I don't think Scott will be as effective on another team either so I have to agree with Montequi.

Terrell Suggs played the same postion as Joey Porter but had only 8 sacks but is better against the run.

They also move guys around a lot and blitz different guys so the system is geared for more players to make big plays.

Ray Lewis played the same position as Crowder and had 29 less tackles but made big plays more often with 3 int's and 2 FF compared to 1 FF from Crowder.

Yep, just to make an example. Remember Adewale Ogunleye? His stats were inflated because he played opposite JT.

I don't care what you guys say I think if he is available we'll try to sign him. Leonard is a younger version of Yerimiah Bell.
