Brandon Tate WR, Height 6'1”, Weight: 195

A surefire first-rounder entering 2008, Tate unfortunately he tore his ACL on October 11 against Notre Dame. Some NFL Draft experts have him going undrafted. I think it will depend on his showing at the combine. If he has a good showing he will get back on the draft board. If he is still there in the 4th or 5th rounds and we fill other needs I hope Bill gives this guy a chance. NFL Network's Mike Mayock reports that he is "hearing" Brandon Tate will be able to take part in the NFL Combine, and still has Tate atop his senior wide receiver rankings and expects him to run a sub-4.5 forty in February. No senior this year is projected to be taken before the latter part of the first round. If you have not seen him in action check him out on Youtube. He’s one of those guys you envision in a Dolphins uniform when you watch him play.

This guy sounds to me just like another yatil Green. Damage good coming right out of college.

If we get the guy in the 5th, 6th or 7th rounds, then I think we should take a chance. The problem with Yatil was the fact that we drafted him in the 1st round.

Drafting Green still makes me ill. He had the speed, size and hands to succeed in the NFL, but was a big injury risk. To see his career blow up on the first day of his first training camp was so disappointing.

Do you know that Green is only 35? If he had been healthy we could still have him on our team!!

Agreed about giving him a chance in the 7th round.

Players in the 7th round ussually don't pan out. Sometimes they do, most of the times they do not.

If he has much potential then i hope we give him a shot at the end of the draft. Remember the mgahee miracle?

Yatil had a lot of hamstring problems coming out of college if i remember correctly. Nothing mayor. I remember he was considered a risk though.

The Dolphins haven't drafted a franchise WR since....Mark Clayton in 83.

Well, we got Clayton in the 8th (!!!!) round. That means, if he was available today, he would have gone undrafted!

I really don't see much more upside out of Bess. I don't see him having the physical tools needed. He is not much of a threat for yac which is why he is not a good punt returner.

He has great hands and knows how to get open on short to intermediate routes but is not a deep threat or a home run hitter.

Welker was quicker and did gain yac yards.

I could see Camarillo being a great slot guy but I don't think Bess will beat him out for the #3 spot if Ginn produces next year and we add another #1 or 2.

It was impressive to come in as an undrafted free agent and produce the way he did but... I just don't see it.

Welker was good not great when he was a member of the phins. Then he goes to new england and suddenly becomes a pro bowler.

Due to new england having such a talented offense. Eesti i almost guarantee you welker wouldn't do any better than devon bess on this miami offense.

In other words i believe both ginn and bess would become really good players if we can upgrade the miami dolphins offense.

For that to happen

1. pennington needs to have as good if not a better year than this past season.

2. We need a #1 WR threat. Draftee and free agent.

3. Jake long needs to become a pro bowler.

4. Vernon carrey needs to be resigned and play better than he did this year.

5. We need to find a true #1 center and move satelle to guard maybe. Satelle didn't had a bad year but he didn't had a great one either.

6. Justin smilley needs to come back from injury and continue to help long on the left side.

7.Donald thomas needs to come back from injury as well and become the player they say he is.

8. Both fasano and martin need to have as good a year as they did in 2008.

9. Need to sign a couple of free agents G and OT for depth. Or draft a couple.

10. ronnie and ricky need to continue to stay healthy. As well as cobbs.

11. Lousaka Polite needs to continue his 4rth and 1 perfection.

Its not too much to ask.......If other teams have done it why not us?

thought?

Parcells & Co did a great job with the draft last year, but Miami will have to find more skill players and improve on the D & O line if they’re going to get better in 2009. Tate is going to be a guy you want to give a chance in the late rounds of the draft because of his upside. Who is the steal of this year’s draft? The one everyone looks over and he ends up becoming a Pro Bowler….. Thro a name out here that you think would be a steal in the late rounds of the draft and let see where they end up…. I’m sticking with Tate!
