since when is brandon graham a "good player"?
and if we turned that deal down before the draft why would we take it now when the draft pick offered is a year away?
stupid trade rumor

They were talkin 2nd rounder before the draft. I just said if a 1st is offered along with Graham we should take it. We have quality DE and depth at the position. We could use the Picks to round out the Team. Hey its the off season.......what else you want to talk about? We never should have invested a 2nd and 1 st rounder in a position we that didn't need upgrading. With a 1st rounder back it might be worth it.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

a first rounder next year is generally considered the same as a 2d rounder this year, and philly is likely to be a playoff team next year, so it's really not any better of an offer. Dion Jordan is one of the most talented players on this team and if we give up on him after investing the #3 overall pick without seeing what he can truly do, then we are fools.

I'd only trade him at this point for a pro bowl caliber veteran at a need position and I don't see any offer like that coming up. Remember when we traded Wally Ogunlye for Marty Booker and a 3d rounder (which we traded for Lamar Gordon)? The Philly offer you mention sounds kind of like that crappy deal

You can rationalize it anyway you want. A 1st rounder is a 1st rounder. Philly might want to be a contender this year. We are not in a position to get equal value on a deal that Ireland should never had made. Getting back close to the value and thinking about the future of this team would be the right thing to do.

And since when is Dion Jordon the most talented player on this team? LOL. Since when does riding pine make you talented? Give me Cameron Wake , any day, week , month, 24/7.

Unless he can play linebacker and be Pro bowl status at it, I do not get giving up a 1st and a second for him. However we can fix that and get most of the value back with a trade.

You don't think Hickey wants to stamp out Irleans stink in that place once and for all by getting rid of his Big Trade ? Make himself a hero in next years draft with ammo to finally get this team in the right direction. We can afford the salary Cap hit. We are far from maxed out. Might or might not happen. But I think its certainly worth discussing. What else you want to talk about?

Small schools vs Big Schools? Ross's new plan to get the stadium upgraded? LOL.........

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

We need to keep Jordan. Wake isn't exactly 28 anymore and on the wrong side of 30 he might be solid from here on out but I don't think wake will be dominate and there is never enough good pass rushers on one team.

Lets see some pass rushing then. The only thing he passed was a lot of GAS last season.

yes, agreed. let's see some pass rushing. wouldn't you rather see it for us than another team? plus how dumb would it be to dump a guy when we've already paid him the bulk of his contract?

I'm not able to break down the technical aspects of every position on the field, but Jordan flashed a ton last year when he was actually on the field. Can't remember when/where I read it, but he was rated the most impactful rookie DE play-for-play last year.

The talent is clearly there. If we just absolutely can't find a way to use him in a way that maximizes the defense's potential, then (a) we don't have very good defensive coaches or (b) he truly is expendable. But, great teams figure out how to get superior talent on the field in a position to make significant impact.

I read that as well. Man I hope they are planning to make him a Linebacker. He outweighs Zack Thomas by like 30 pounds!

OR.....maybe we have. confused smiley

Ireland has no business giving up a 1st and 2nd rounder for a injured player at a position we are strong in , any way you look at it. Dummy and that's why he will be a spectator this season looking for a scout job somewhere.

Do we stay invested or ca$h out of the deal and look toward the future? I 'm just saying if the right deal , another 1st rounder and a decent player presented itself, we could really round out the Team with another special player we could really use.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

a 1st round pick won't help us in 2014. IMO we need the help this year. Why take the extra cap hit for a trade when he can offer production this year?

You just proposed signing McKinnie as an insurance policy. What if Wake get's hurt and we are without Jordan? Then where is our pass rush? Derrick Shelby and Vernon? He just doesn't offer the same level of pressure.

I would rather move Vernon to SDE and put Jordan on the weak side in that case.

What if Vernon had a fluke year and can't get close to 11 sacks again? What if he's not as good without a marquise player on the other end?

Teams like Seattle are stock piling defensive linemen. I wouldn't have drafted him but I wouldn't trade him either unless I get an astronomical offer.

Not a fair comparison. McKinny is insurance for 1 million. League min.

Jordon cost us a 1st rounder and a 2nd!!!!!Holy Shit Bro! We over paid big time for a hurt DE we don't need. Lets cut the loss and get some value back. Only if they up the ante some. Its worth exploring.

What if Jordan doesn't pan out? No more 1st or 2nd round offers. We are stuck with him. Defensive linemen/linebackers I'm down with. My problem is him playing DE. Wake is better. Hands down. How often will we Blitz with two DE? We need to stop the run. You blitz blitz blitz they will short pass on you. You guys act like he is a sure thing. Your ready to cast aside a Pro bowl Top 100 player like Wake because he is 32. really? Not me. He gave me my only huge smile last season on Halloween night.

GO DOLPHINS!!!!

and trading Jordan will cost us around 11 mil and no value in 2014.

What if he does and the late 1st round pick we get for him is a flop?

Not ready to cast aside Wake. I want to keep both. We NEED all the talent we can get.

Right. I realized it was just speculation. Just wanted to provide a link.

It would probably be better than a Philly trade since Dallas may really tank this year IMO...and keep Jordan away from a division rival for Jerry.

Realistically, I don't see ANY trades happening for Jordan. Too many cost implications.

I'm not advocating Miami trade Jordan, but if they do and a team will have to give up its #1, it had damn better be a perennial loser who constantly finishes in the top 5 draft positions every year.

I doubt if Miami has any intention of trading him, tho.

I guess we'll see if Ireland's last gamble was worth it. It's nice to know that he's bulked up in the off-season though. I can see logic having both him & Wake, it's seems pretty clear that it's an investment to put more pressure on Brady. Tom gets rattled when and hates being under pressure.
