Nice walks away from Buffalo with $4M possibly to coach the Jets!

WOW and LOL.

That means Jim Schwartz is probably going to be available as a DC.

Very interesting.

Orton announces his retirement and now Marrone walks. I can't help but wonder what's really going on there in Buffalo.

Polian backed out as well and informed them he would be returning to ESPN. They said it was about money. Now they are up shite creek. So sad.

No QB, No first round pick, No HC, No one willing to be the football czar and GM on shakey ground.

They're gonna have to go after a Jake locker/Matt Moore type to compete next year.....what a mess

Yup, all of the above. I read that Polian was leaning towards going back until he talked to Marrone and he told him what a mess it was.....Ouch

He wanted to keep Marone. Sounds like they talked and realized what a mess it was...

Marone chases dollars signs (left Syr hanging for BUF now he wants the Jets job), Polian is not the same guy who ran the Bill's front office in the Kelly days. Win for BUF by not hiring him. Except for qb and some front office instability BUF position for position looks better than MIA right now.

Word here in NY is that Charlie Casserly is a big Marrone fan. That Marrone opted out after Buffalo refuse to extend him and because he was told he'll get the Jets job.

BUF refused to extend him? The I agree w/ his decision I would have opted out too. Marrone did a job worthy of contract extension imo.

I heard reports that Marrone had an out-clause in his contract depending on the proposed sale of the Bills, and he took it. I also heard that he wanted the Jets job when he found out it opened.

If Marrone was such a hot commodity he would have been hired by now.

IMO the HC market sucks this year. Hell, the Raiders are probably going to keep Sparano.

I don't think any of the HC vacancies have been filled yet. Have they?

Not one and if the Jets wanted Marrone so badly they wouldn't have let him leave to interview elsewhere.

Bills are interviewed Rex yesterday. Him with that defense is a scary thought!

Disagree, jsm.

The Rooney Rule must come into play with any coaching/GM hire. Also, there are a few other coaches that are presently on playoff teams that other teams are waiting to interview.

Whoever coaches the bills and doesnt have a Qb worth it will not be successfull even if its rex ryan.

Same thing that happened to him with the jets will happen to him with the bills.
