Late Season try-outs

Looks like someone wants to get a look at some of the "un-used" players. Sounds like Turner will get snaps, Jason Fox gets a start and Matt Hazel is being called up from PS.

I wonder if this was Hickey's idea?? Doesn't sound like Philbin.

this isn't rec ball. there isn't a minimum play rule. these guys get an offseason and preseason to prove their worth. they practice every week.

you don't screw the other 10 guys on offense because you want to see what so and so has and he screws everyone. it's a performance based business.

how did that work out for the browns? they screwed any chance they had at the playoffs because they wanted to see what johnny manziel could do. They have zero chance now. How do you think the rest of that team that's busted their asses feel now?

The "lets see what so and so has" mentality is nothing more than armchair message board hero gm nonsense.

if they play well it means absolutely nothing about philbin or who was holding them back.

grow up.

That was my initial reaction to the issue but the more I learn about Philbin, the less I trust his judgement. Colledge, Ellerbe, Thomas...the list goes on.

F the Browns and Manziel. This isn't a first round QB issue. Why the hell do you think they drafted him in the first round?

Is that kind of like keyboard tough guy nonsense? Like when you act all bad and tell someone......

....to grow up. Kind of ironic that you are acting so immature. Put on your big boy pants and try and have a discussion with the adults.

they are sinking the ship to move up a few slots i guess...I think the Delmas injury was really the defining thing that could not be overcome. Defense has been a disaster since then.

Fox allowed three quarterback hurries in his 86 snaps, and graded out as the Dolphins' top performing offensive lineman - Sentinel

OOPS! Dallas Thomas??? Puhlease!

To give you my opinion on your last question, I would say it would be both of them working together, with Hickey leading the way so he can see what the present team has and what he will have to go after next year.

I believe Fox is starting because Thomas still isn't at full strength, but if it were me, I would be starting Fox anyway, as I have seen enough of Thomas this year to know he is not the guy, right now. Let's see what he has during the OTAs, etc. As was said in another post, Fox graded out pretty well vs Minny.

I have a feeling Turner will be in on spot duty only. He also has to be evaluated, albeit for only a short time during the Jets game. Give the coaches and Hickey something to look at during the personnel evaluations. Hadn't heard anything about Hazel.
