I rather take my chances with him than with chris johnson.

That was Johnson's first 100 yard game of the year.
The issue will be the two best guards eating the lunch of our DT's. John Avery could tear you up with that kind of blocking.

That's true Joe but the jets have the 2nd ranked ground game in the nfl after 12 weeks in both yards (1778) and ypc (4.8). Baltimore is 5th at 1581 & 4.6

Yeah because they just put 277 on us. That may have bloated their numbers a bit. Ravens are a little more of a balanced team. They have 14 rushing TD's (3rd) to the Jets 9 (tied for 12th).

Point taken, but even if the jets only posted 100 yards last night they'd still be ranked ahead of the Ravens in yards rushing. And you could take that entire game out of the equation and the jets still average more ypc (4.67 vs 4.56) than Baltimore.
Baltimore clearly is the more balanced offense and the better overall team, but the jets are a 1 dimensional offense and people still can't stop their rushing attack.

Like most things in this league, it comes down to match ups cap.
Our interior oline is weak. We are going to struggle against defenses with very good Dt's who dominate that match up. It why we struggle with teams like buffalo, JAX, DET, nyj, and probably Baltimore. Our OT's have been a strength most of the year which is why we had better success offensively against GB, NE and Denver.
Unfortunately, that is our identity this year and it isn't going to change until we bring in better interior olinemen.
The same is true on defense. Our interior dline is small. It can get pushed around.
We fixed a lot of problems last year, but we still have work to do at og, dt and lb that can't be done in season.
Frankly, considering our weaknesses at dt and lb, and that we've lost our 2nd, 3rd and 4th cb's to injury, I think Coyle has done a decent job as DC. There's only so much you can do schematically to hide your weaknesses. Eventually it comes down to beating the guy who lines up in front of you. And that is not a strength of this year's team in the trenches.
Not exactly the cream of the crop. Combined record of 31-52
The beat the Steelers and Browns when they were struggling in weeks 2 & 3. The Saints are still struggling. The Falcons, Titans, Bucs & Panthers are a mess.
The Ravens had 9 turnovers in those 5 losses. In 4 out of 5 losses they were held to under 107 yards rushing as a team. Only vs SD last week did they gain more and they still only had 125 yards.
They were held to 90, 94 & 63 in three of those losses.
Flacco has looked good the last two games. Hit him a couple of times and he gets wobbly. We gotta smack him around early. The Raven's defensive backs stink. The defensive front 7 is about the best in the business.
