is it just me or does this guy look like a totally different player since being cut and resigned. Before he was the slowest most plodding touch-him-and-fall-down RB I'd seen in awhile. Now it looks like he's shot out of a cannon when running the ball. runs downhill and very impressive on practically every run. could it really be all he needed was a wakeup call to reignite his career? before he was one of my least favorite fins but now I really think he's got a future.
seems like no one is talking about this....

I agree, that little bit of time on the unemployment line has made him look like the second rounder he was drafted as.

It's the system Tanne looks better, the oline miller and others. Thomas is the same player. I always thought he would look good in a system like CHI or DEN.

Yes. I always said I liked the way Thomas runs and always thought he hit the hole quicker than Miller. Now Miller has caught up. DT is just getting better blocking this year. He has always run hard IMO.

Across our top 4 rushers, we're averaging 5.3 YPC with all active (excl. Moreno @ 4.8) averaging 4.9 and above. But we're tied for #21 in terms of rushing attempts.

For comparison, SD has Rivers and runs for 3.1 YPC, but they've run it almost 30 more times than us. Indy with Luck and 4.0 YPC almost 40 more than us.

While it's a lot of fun to watch the passing game, I'd be inclined to use the run much more heavily. Perhaps counterintuitively, I think that further utilization of the running game actually depends a great deal on our ability to capitalize in critical moments in the passing game. We have to be better at converting 3rd downs and keeping drives from stalling so quickly. That's the biggest area where Tannehill's familiarity and comfort with the likes of Hartline and Clay in the old system has hurt us this year. For whatever reason, neither of them has yet to be that security blanket consistently for him this year on critical 3rd downs.

Agreed, tsstamper, Miami must run the ball, but must run it effectively (i.e., positive yardage). The running game must keep Miami out of those 3rd and longs.

RT must be sharp. Can't have any "stupid" throws. Wallace needs to force the Chargers to give him double coverage to (hopefully) open up the short-to-medium routes for the other guys. Note to RT: look for your TE down the middle.

Our D (Wake and Vernon) must keep constant pressure on Rivers. Would be nice if Jordan could come in and do what he was drafted to do...put pressure on the QB!!!

Rivers is going to be the key to this game. If his guys get the slightest separation from our DBs, he will find them.

I do not like Thomas, he will have a good play here or there , but he often turns his back to where he is running. Never seen a back do that before.

I prefer Miller and then Williams.
