Ginn was expecting a handoff and, because Ray Lewis was all over him, the ball slipped out of Penny's hand just before it got to Teddy.

Could Ginn still have caught what amounted to a surprise pitch? Sure. But don't act like it wasn't a tough play. It's almost like reacting to a pass that's tipped just before the ball gets to you. Sometimes you get lucky and react, sometimes you aren't able to. Same logic applies here, IMO.

They say football is a game of inches. That play really proves that. The Raven blitzed and made a great play at the right time. However, if Penny had a split second longer to complete the handoff, it looked as though Ginn would have had A LOT of running room (with blockers in front) and possibly could have scored.

The Dolphins score there, it's a 20-15 game with plenty of time remaining. Instead, the Ravens all but sealed the game on that play.

Just like Bess didn't drop an easy pass just before the PI play to Ginn?

You have no idea whether somebody else would have been able to catch that botched handoff. You're assuming.

I submit to you that most players would have fumbled that ball when they were expecting a handoff.

You Ginn haters are totally out of control and total idiots. Lame ass excuse for piss poor OL play against a great defense. Chad's not to blame either.
What have I been saying for two years. You need a great running game and great defense to win the SB. We have neither this year, but it's coming.
Ginn is not to blame for these picks or the fumble.

Ginn had responsibility for 2 INTs and a huge loss when we could have pulled within one score. He wasn't responsible for the loss.

But I'm not going to apoligize for this guy. He's not a #1 or #2 WR. Ginn is not reliable, runs bad routes, doesn't do what is needed to win.

He's a #9 overall pick, but doesn't play like it, so he's getting some well deserved heat.

The Ginn pick looks bad because Dawyne Bowe was pick some 14 spots later and is a much much MUCH better player.

And Ginn doesnt' even return kicks, so what good is he in that aspect??

Like I said, he didn't climb the ladder for one, and just fell down from being lightly tapped on another. So yes, he had some responsibility on those INTs.

You seem surprised? Don't you understand that bad WR play can lead to INTs?

Sure do. Do you realize that bad throws are the primary reason for interceptions. Using the argument some are making about the big loss on the reverse (the ball touched his hands), the interceptions fall squarely on Pennington. They didn't even make it to Ginn's hands. Granted Ginn fell on the 2nd one, but he was double covered and the ball floated anyway. You're selectively blaming who you choose to blame.

Sorry, I thought blaming Ginn was the gist of this whole thread. Silly me for blaming the QB for 4 interceptions.

Fact is, we got smoked by a better team.

Ginn is one of many players who made us a lesser team than the Ravens -along with many others.

I think having Camarillo, Bess and Ginn would have been nice. London made a couple of grabs; but we didn't even go to 3 WRs until we absolutely had to pass. That doesn't say much for our WR depth. I'm thinking Wilford won't be a Phin next year - regardless of the cap hit.

the first int was on ginn the second was on account of him getting tripped and the only real int that was on chad was the 1 in the red zone

The third one was also bad, throwing into triple coverage. I have no idea how the Ravens had that much pressure on him and could still triple cover, which is probably what Chad was thinking.

The first INT was 60/40 to Pennington, who overthrew, I just think Ginn could have done more to not let it just fly away above his head. Maybe he just can't jump. The second one, sorry, a little incidental contact should not send you sprawling to the ground. Maybe he can't make a play on the ball anyway. However that whole play sucked because why design a play that Ginn can't create separation and Chad can't throw? Make it one of those underthrow the ball plays, or, run a quicker route where the ball only travels 20 yards in the air. Unlike some though I don't think he was ever "open."

if we go get Houshmanzeda or Boldin and move Ginn to a #2 WR where he is lined up aginst #2 CB's he can just flat out run by, while Housh is getting double teamed. You guys will be shocked at how good Ginn would be.

Ginn isnt a #1 WR. Yet we use him in that role. We need to put him in a position to succede.

Well some people have been calling for him to play all year.

Ghotirule is a Ted Ginn hater. When Ginn makes big plays (which he has numerous times throughout his 2 seasons) Ghotirule is nowhere to be found on this board. But as soon as something happens bad and Ted Ginn is somewhere close to the playing field, it is automatically his fault, or as he says it "the Ginn family" fault. Get over it, dude.

He is at fault for 2 INT's is the most ridiculous statement I have ever seen on this board. That one throw where he is tripped is probably the most underthrown pass in the history of the NFL= CHAD PENNINGTON! NOT TED GINNS FAULT.
