Hakeem Nicks will be the best WR of this draft. If he is still available when we pick during the 2nd round, we have to snatch him up.

Also, why didnt you just post the link to Walterfootball.com? Alot less space would have been used.

I'm of the opinion that secondary or LB is a bigger need, but Bill Parcells has always gone with the "best player available" theory so who knows. Thanks for this list though, nicely done.

yo whats the deal with dez bryant? is he an underclassman or did he not declare? And whats up with those texas recievers getting no love...

Obviously I would love to get crabtree but of the cats that we have a real shot of gettin i would love to have iglesias. He has great size, speed, power, hands and can make plays after the catch. I think he is going to be the next boldin

Dez Bryant is a true sophomore. He is ineligable to commit yet. But next year he will be eligible.

WR doesn't feel like the biggest need anymore. Even with the injuries BESS has stepped up, and PENNINGTON likes to throw to the TE anyway. Hopefully Camarillo will rehab, Wilford will be cut, BESS, and Ginn will have productive off-season work. And WE'll sign TJ HOUSMANDZADAH

SO....Here's a couple LOW RISK 7TH ROUND SELECTIONS!!!!

Greg Carr, Florida State
Height: 6-6. Weight: 211.
Projected 40 Time: 4.58.
Projected Round (2009): FA

Mohamed Massaquoi, Georgia
Height: 6-2. Weight: 205.
Projected 40 Time: 4.49.
Projected Round (2009): 7.

Pat White would be interesting in the Wildcat formation.

Fakespike...I never said I hoped we would lose to improve our draft position. But enough of that because people are going to interpret what I did say incorrectly anyway so that ship has sailed.

Beyond that, even with Cammarillo, Bess and Ginn I think we still need another WR. One that has some size, height and speed to go with it. All of our WR's are on the small side so it can only make the offense better if we have a TO, Moss Johnson, etc. kind of guy. The offense needs as many guys that have big play labels on them as we can get. We need to be similar to the Rams of yesteryear, where it was simply impossible to cover everyone. Then utilize the RB's and their power as much as posible too. I realize that there are only so many balls to go around but talent is a commodity we need to be over stocked on.

You guys wouldnt be willing to take a shot at Hakeem Nicks in the 2nd round? Something like this.....

1. Mount Cody
2A. Macho Harris
2B Hakeem Nicks
3. Another D player

Looks good to me.

Looks like a ton of WR prospects so I would anticipate grabbing one in the 1st 3 rnds. I wish people would stop calling for us to get Housh and all the other older guys, I for one am sick and tired of over paying for guys on the down side of there career (he may still be a good WR but it would take a boat load of $ to get him, lets just stay on course and keep re-building this thing through solid drafting and minor adjustments in FA)

Yeah me too. I want great rookies who are going to be here for a looooooong time.

I like Britt, but Nicks seems destined for superstardom. Did anybody see that catch he made in the bowl game? And his stats?

After a monster bowl game by Hakeem Nicks (217 yards 3 TDs) I'd say 'sign him up'.

I am NOT totally convinced as I was early in the year that WR is the biggest need. Maybe the 4th biggest need after DT CB MLB.

I totaly agree with you about it taking a few yrs for WR's to develop and I'm OK with that (Ginn should be a stud next year), were all riding pretty high right now with the current turn around but lets not forget that this is a couple year re-building process. We'd be fooling ourselves to think that this is a Superbowl caliber team and it probably wont be next year either so lets just stick to the blueprint and build this thing for the long haul through solid drafting, now if we could get a Housh or someone like him at a decent price tag I'd be all for that but with the mental state of most ego driven WR's noone's gonna come here for less money that what they can get elsewhere. Even though it didn't pan out and he needs to be cut I still support the Wilford move from last year, that is trying to take a 2nd/3rd tier guy and giving him a chance to become a star.

lot'a WR's in the 2009 that is why I would not take one in the first rnd. Maybe one in rnd 2 and another in 3. Plus I would give Wilford a 2nd year in our O. Remember a lot of fans wanted to string up Martin and Porter last year. I hate free agency just like rooks there is an adjustment period for veteran players too.

I think I'd be ok with going into next year with the crop of WRs we have now, assuming their continued development. Ginn looks to me like he's on the right trajectory. I thought the trio of Camarillo, Ginn and Bess was just about right for Pennington. In fact, I think Pennington has definitely been good for Ginn. In retrospect, I like that he has basically forced (and helped) Ginn to develop a more complete game. He can't just be a deep ball guy. In my opinion, he really developed more than his stats would suggest this year. If not for a few dropped passes in the 2nd half of the season, I think he would have had closer to 900 yards for the season. I have not given up on his potential to become a #1 receiver in the mold of Harrison, Galloway, or Glenn. I don't think he'll ever be Moss, Fitzgerald, or any of the big guys, but players like him have developed into real #1 receivers.

I would bet we draft a WR next year, but I would be surprised if it is our 1st round pick unless someone high on our board just falls into our laps.

I don't think the issue with Wilford is our system. It sounds like he doesn't practice well. And the fact that he hasn't been able to work his way into the offense after an injury to Camarillo does not bode well for his future here. I think he'll be cut as soon as we can.
