Thomas opting out

Zach Thomas is supposed to void the last 3 years of his contract. How did he play this year? Will he go to the Pats?

I really like Bradie James. We have to get Boldin

I wonder if he could come back to Miami.

Zach isnt the MLB acquisition that would put us over the top next season, It'd make a nice stroy. But he's even older...

Forget Bradie James, he's under contract.

We shold offer our second round pick for BOLDIN.

Zach has said that he is not comfortable in the 3-4 and wants to go back to a 4-3. Imagine Thomas in Indy. They could use him but don't really have big enough DT's.

Also, Zach has lost a step here in the last few years and Dungy wants speed above all else, so I don't see him fitting in in Indy.

Zach Thomas is washed up!!

As is Jason Taylor. They were both exposed big time this year.

On garbage Miami teams in recent years they stood out as stars. On talented teams they were just ordinary players. I think the Ravens just broke another 80 yard TD run against Zach and the boys........

Wow, dude. Not sure where these comments are coming from. They're not shared by most of the people on this board.

Zach Thomas will thrive again next year as a 4-3 MLB.

Jason Taylor...was exposed? He was injured.

They stood out as stars because there were incredible players on great defenses in Miami...it was only the last couple of years that our defenses declined under Saban and Cameron.

The Cowboys and Redskins both sucked this year . They are also stupid. They put JT as the strong side DE instead of using him as the primary pass rusher. That's like putting Dan Marino in the Wildcat....a total misuse of talent.

Thomas is far from washed up. Same with JT. JT was injured for most of the season. I agree with what was said earlier. " Thomas has lost a step"

Uhh..you're not doing so well yourself...coming on the board and immediately bad mouthing 2 of the best players in Dolphin history. I'm surprised you're not bashing Dan Marino as well. If you were a regular on the board, we might be more accepting of your comments, but, face it, you're a newbie.

I would re-word MikeO's comment. Something like this:

JT and Zach Thomas are definately at the end of their careers, especially Thomas. JT probably has 3-4 more years left, Zach maybe has 2 but most likely only 1. Neither of them are the same players that once dawned a Miami Dolphin jersey. Dont get me wrong though, but can make contributions to a franchise, how much is the question though, especially on Thomas' part.

You SERIOUSLY are saying that Zach Thomas and Jason Taylor are NOT 2 of the best players in Dolphins history??? Are you, like, 7 years old or something? Dude, go back to the rock you crawled from under. You don't belong on this board.

I have to defend Im not a troll.........OK. I guess the other posts that are "pro fins" dont' count. Just this one opinion I have does. Anyway, here I go...............

First I didn't say they weren't great players. I just said they weren't dolphins legends or all time Dolphins greats. Big difference. When I think of all time Dolphins greats I think of Marino, Csonka, Warfield, Keuch, Stevenson, Killer B's...etc. These 2 are NOT in that class

1) they never even took us to a conference championship game. if you are AMONG an all time great in a franchise, at least get us CLOSE to a championship. Especially in such high leadership roles as they had.

2) in playoff games this so called GREAT defense led by these two once gave up 62 pts.

3) In a week 17 game at New England this GREAT defense blew a 16 or 17 pt lead in what, 3 minutes that cost us a division championship back in 2003

4) these guys were never leaders. Had to watch Zach belittle Morlon Greenwood in his rookie season when Morlon RUSHED BACK FROM AN INJURY to play At Seattle. Morlon a rookie who had played well, made one mistake only to have Zach live on CBS belittle him and curse him out on the sidelines. Going after rookies isn't "leadership" its picking on the new guys for harmless mistakes. That is just 1 of MANY MANY examples

5) If JT is such a Dolphins legend, then why did he want to leave this franchise so badly?? Never heard Marino or other Dolphins greats try to get out of town ASAP. And skip OTA's like JT did. Put himself first his team second.

These 2 were popular players and fan favorites no dobut. Each were above average NFL players. Neither are going to the Hall of Fame. They were good solid players for the Fins. But not all time greates for this franchise by any means. They were the "best" players on some of the worst teams in this franchises history. So they stood out. doesn't make them dolphins legends
