I think he's too small for this regime to invest too high a pick in. Earlier in the offseason, he was being mentioned as a 5th round pick. That would make sense. We would get the bigger, more physical back that this regime likes early, and then complement him with a speedster like Jones. But, now that Jones is being touted as a 3rd rd pick, I can't see us doing that. He seems too small to take the pounding that a feature back gets.
He would be situational back along with Deangelo Willaims and a bigger back like Bilal Powell, Alan Bradford, Delone Carter, Roy Helu, Jamie Harper, Mario Fanin, Brandon Saine

There may not be free agency. If this thing drags out until July/August, they may agree to bypass it this year. And even if there is, Williams may not be a free agent. It will depend on the CBA. But, given all of our needs, can we afford to spend a 3rd round pick on a situational player? I think the answer is no. In the later rounds, we could look at guys like DuJuan Harris or Da'Rell Scott.
Ronnie Brown 230 lbs
Ricky Williams 230 lbs
Lex Hilliard 240 lbs
Jalen Parmele 222 lbs
Patrick Cobbs 205 lbs
Kory Sheets 206 lbs
Julius Jones 208 lbs
Marion Barber 218 lbs
I don't believe this regime would see Jones as a featured back. Not when you look at their history. And I can't see them taking a change of pace back in the 3rd round.
