Date: April 20, 2011 07:10PM I won't be mortified if we take him at #15...Screw what people think about value...you take players where you pick and don't play cute games. Kapernick has all of the tools, a very good arm, is smart, and he has really good athleticsm.
If Gabbert and Newton are gone (and they will be) the best bets IMHO are: Mallet/Kapernick/Ponder Re: Omar's a goof!

Date: April 21, 2011 02:17AM Kaepernick has not taken a lot of snaps under center because he has not played in a pro style offense. His mechanics will probably also need tweaking. Even though he's very tall, he slings the ball from a low release point, and it makes it seem like he is much shorter. He'll also have to shorten up his delivery. He really winds up before delivering the ball, and that gives the defense extra time to react. He's a bit of a project. He has a world of potential. But, the consensus is that he won't be ready to start for 2-3 years. And it seems really unlikely we'd spend the #15 pick on a guy that won't help us for 2-3 years. Re: Omar's a goof!
