When a player of Marshall's caliber spends the offseason trying to get better (faster, stronger), only good things can come from that. That was one thing that made Jerry Rice so great. He was never satisfied with his ability. He spent every offseason trying to get faster, crisper on routes, better at catching, etc.

I think you can make yourself stronger but I doubt very much you can make yourself faster. Brandon Marshall is a great possession receiver but he needs, on the other side, a Ted Ginn who can catch the ball.

You can. Ricky did when he first came to Miami. He lost some weight and immediately became faster.

Improving your track speed is easy. Improving your playing speed is a whole other story. Marshall has never played fast, and it's not likely he's going to start now. Especially not after knee and hip surgeries.

I don't know why people think Marshall is going to be better than he was this year. In Denver, Marshall averaged 6.5 catches per game for 12 yards per catch. Last year with Miami, Marshall averaged 6.5 catches per game for 12 yards per catch. That is who he is, and that's his established performance level. He's not suddenly going to turn into a big play guy. He's a possession receiver who is at his best 5-10 yards from the line of scrimmage. If you look at his splits, he used to average about 8 yards per catch in Denver, with another 4 yards per catch on yards after the catch. He actually caught balls a little further downfield in Miami, at about 10 yards. But, he only averaged 2 yards after the catch, so it resulted in the same net of 12.

He will be much improved this year.

In Denver he didnt need to be faster, they have Eddie Royal, and Stokeley.

Now that he feel's he needs to regain his speed, and explosioness, he should improve at least a little to his overall game.

Yeah, okay. I forgot about losing weight. But is weight an issue for Brandon in any event?

The day he has a QB thats worth something throwing to him will be the day when he makes a huge impact.

We do not have that now.

Will we have a good QB soon?

I dont know...........we've been looking for a QB since marino retired and have not found him yet.

Marshall has been working out everyday but rest days, with FitSpeed for a while. He posted to day, he felt like crap on the field, and Matt his trainer told him he looks the most explosive he has ever looked, and it lifted him up.

His next tweet was "Lift someone up today" the guy isnt partying, he is training, and training hard from what it sounds like.

Good to hear Marshall is motivated. It will only help him but maybe he should get a juggs machine too.
He and Sean Smith could split it.

I think you can definitely improve your speed. Years back when Adam Archuletta was making the transition from LB to NFL safety he went thru a similar program and improved his 40 time to 4.37 from a 4.5 something.

I saw a video on it leading up to the draft. It involved big time hamstring excercises. Its all about the hammies!
