I get what you're saying about Wayne's CEO mentality, but I think he managed the Marlins MUCH worse than he's managed Miami. Of course, he DID get one World Series win out of it, but he basically bought that championship...and tried to get his money back after the win (by letting everyone go).

Wayne was mislead in 1997 though. He was told before that season, if you put out a winner, this group of investors would buy part of the team from him. Making it PROFITABLE for Wayne and he could stay involved with the Marlins. So, Wayne spent a ton. Went for broke......and WON THE WORLD SERIES

Only to have those other businessmen BACK-OUT and LIE to Wayne after the season. they never invested. Wayne went into huge debt because of that, and he HAD to sell off that team.

2003 Wayne wasn't around so you can't blame him for that one
