THe kid Mathews from Nevada looked strong as well. I thought both the late rd WRs looked surprisingly good for being late rd picks.
CUnningham, I think Philbin said last night, BJ left Michigan state as all time leading WR for the school.

I agree Crowder.
Both of those kids looked every bit as good as McNutt and most fans had him mocked to us in the 3rd or 4th.
Can't wait to see Cunningham and Matthews in pads.
This was the depth in this year's receiver class. There wasn't a lot at the top, but there were a ton of guys that had 3rd or 4th round grades. Both Cunningham and Matthews were in that group.
Michigan State ran a pro style offense, so with his experience and production in that system, Cunningham has a good chance to contribute immediately.
Being that Philbin's opinion matters to Ireland a whole lot, & that Philbin is a later round guru for eying receiver talent, I'm going to wholeheartedly endorse every single signing or cut.
Although there are many who probably still feel that the Marshall trade was dumb, I bet Philbin has some things in mind for this team that will make us all forget that Marshall was ever here.
I called into Sirius tonight to ask Michigan State alum and Big Ten Network analyst Jim Miller about Cunningham. He said that over his career, he really improved at learning how to use his body to be more physical with defensive backs, and using his size and strength to his advantage. He said that he absolutely thinks that he is polished enough to compete for a starting position immediately.

That was me. I've called the Ryan/Kirwan show a couple of times, but heard Miller tonight and figured it was a great time to ask him about Cunningham. He came on the air during the draft, and wanted to talk about Cunningham. But, by the time they got on him on mic, the conversation had moved on to someone else. So, I wanted to hear his thoughts.
