Although he was a big part, it wasn't all Pennington. Without a team effort, offense AND defense, we wouldn't be in this position. Indy, on the other hand, has NO running game. It's incredible they're even in the playoffs.

If we didn't have Pennington this year we would have been thankful for a 5-11 season. As I recall Indy's defense is pretty darn good with Dwight Freeney and Bob Sanders to name a few.... They were 13-3 last year. How is it incredible that they are in the playoffs???
I agree that Indy wasn't exactly a long-shot at the playoffs. They have one of the most potent QB/WR connections in the history of the NFL, a fantastic coaching staff, and arguably the two best defensive players in the league. Manning has no absence of talent on that team.
On the other hand, being flat-out cut by your former team, signing for a 1-15 team, having a career year, and making the playoffs with the biggest underdog of the season damn sure qualifies as MVP in my book.
I said that Chad should win the MVP yesterday to some buddies. (I actually got to watch the Phins/Jets game with 5 other Pats haters. What a treat that was.) A few of them said that Manning would win the award this year, and I believe that he will; but I think Pennington deserves to win it. The Colts only won one more game than the Dolphins this year! That's it - just one. And Manning throws to at least 2 receivers who will be in the HOF when their career is over. When you consider where Miami was last year and the level of receiving talent Chad throws to compared to Manning, I think Chad should clearly be the logical choice. However, I don't trust the voters to get it right.
I don't think Chad will be voted MVP because he wasn't even voted as a top 3 QB for the Pro Bowl. Someone somewhere in the league offices just won't let that happen...the league MVP not be in the Pro Bowl. It just smacks of idiocy.
In fact, neither of the league's (not conference's...LEAGUE's) freakin' two highest rated passers were voted into the pro bowl. And coaches and players make up enough of the vote to overrule the fan vote, apparently.
While Pennington is in the running, Peyton will be hard to beat, and the way I see it, if there is an MVP on Miami's Team, it has to go to Joey Porter. He is the one who should be mention when the talk of MVP is being mentioned.

Joey the MVP? No way. He has done very well, but even Joey is lobbying for Chad. Chad is too humble to say anything so Joey is saying it for him.

Don't get me wrong, I think Porter is great, but wahat has he done in the last few weeks????
Porter is not even the MVP of our team, much less the league.
