I agree 808, but also the Marshall testimony Ross made, makes it clear to me, he cant be happy with Ireland... He traded away two second rd picks and gave him 35 million in 3 years, and Ross said they were going to cut him...ouch....That means that Ireland's premier FA signing and money was spent on a guy they were ready to cut only 3 years into it.... Ireland is on thinner ice then you think after that tell tale...

I agree Crowder, and it's pretty bad too when an owner has to do damage control with the fans instead of the GM. This reminds me of the fan revolt in DC with Vinny lol!!!

People are overreacting on Flynn and Tannehill, even RG3. They are not guaranteed to be any better than Moore, Weedon or Cousins.

Griffen looks like a talent, but look at Jamarcus Russell, Akili Smith, David Carr, Ryan Leaf, Tim Couch, they were all "Can't miss" prospects in the eyes of the experts

Not sure why ESPN would write those stories, Finshady, but....

I would think it is because of the different styles of the two QBs. Would RG III be a better fit in Indy due to a poor OLine? The QB may have to do a lot of running to escape getting killed, so RG III may be the better fit. Other than that, it probably doesn't really matter which QB goes where.

Luck, however, is the more NFL-ready QB of the two.

I think that is highly debatable.

RG3 is just as, if not more intelligent. He has a way, way, way better arm. He is also more atheletic.

People think I am crazy, but RG3 will make everybody forget about Andrew Luck.

You guys will see. If Harbaugh made Alex Smith look good, it should have raised a red flag.

Luck is more pro ready from a playbook standpoint. He ran a pro offense and had a lot of freedom at the line of scrimmage. RGIII has superior arm talent and he is smart as well but he just doesn't have the experience with a pro style offense that Luck has.

I think "pro ready" is overrated anyways. These guys have the physical and mental tools to succeed early in the pros and it will come down to coaching and supporting cast to determine who has more early success.

Exactly on the pro ready being overrated.

Fair comment on why they traded Marshall. He had to go and got something for him. The hole he left is still vacant though. Hmmmm. Are we going to go after a top flight WR in the draft? Is there a rookie who can step right in and be a deep threat? Are we willing to go after that rookie?

Philbin was not really hot on Flynn is how I interpret things. It's the old bang for the buck thing. Taking an 8 million dollar gamble probably didn't make sense. Garrad makes more sense for less, but I don't think he's the long term "franchise" player we need any more than Matt Moore is that player.

As for RG3 and Luck--the issue of who is better NFL material is unimportant for us as we aren't players for either of them. They are someone else's gamble and QB development projects.

Nothing really happening thus far that I can see that improves the team offensively or defensively. If anything, we have less talent overall than before. sad smiley
