You don't have to go to the merits of your debate about RGIII to say that reporters, news, sports and any other kind of reporter is naturally going to write "news" and thus puff up the importance of any fact or facts upon which they are reporting.
Anyone who thinks RG3 is a better QB prospect than Andrew Luck is nuts.
I don't care which guy is smarter, which guy is a better athlete, which guy blah blah blah
Luck has already demonstrated he can run a pro style offense in which he calls his own damn plays and adjusts them at the line of scrimmage. RG3 has thrown that he can throw bubble screens in the Big 12.
RG3 might turn out to be a better pro, but Andrew Luck has already shown that he can play the position competently in the NFL. There's no risk with him and a ridiculous amount of upside.
One question WHY? What have you got against Andrew Luck I would trade my 1st round pick this year and the next 2 years for the chance to take him #1. I am that convinced he will be better than advertised in the leauge where the talent on roster's is more evenly matched than in college.
but I couldn't pay Matt Flynn $8 million to come here.
Maybe something got lost in the re-telling. What does he mean? If Philbin wanted him, Flynn would have to agree to play for less than his market value?

Not at all, he's saying based on Philbins assesment, Flynn wasn't worth 8 mil, especially if they thought they'd have to still draft a guy to compete.

Im not sure where the Ghoti has been. I havent spoken to him in a while.
As far as this post goes, Do you think what Mr. Ross said puts Philbin in a weird predicament or feel uneasy?
Ross kind of tells too much information. You never hear the good Owners talking. Never here strategy or the "Why's or Why Not's" of their organization.

I think it does a little , but by Flynn yapping his trap I think the Dolphins were forced into that a bit. The Flynn situation is kinda what prompted the "Occupy Sun Life Stadium" movement, so I don't think they had a choice really.
As far as Ross talking too much, IDK, he's just trying to smooth things over with the fanbase a, he could of easily taken a "you people are peons and mean nothing to me" approach. IMO, he botched the Harbaugh chase badly, but other then that, I don't have much of a problem with him.......yet!
I applaud Ross for making the effort to explain things. He owes US (the fans) an explanation of why they did what they did. At this point the fans are calling for the heads of everyone in the organization from the GM up. We are not getting the best players on the market and we deserve an explanation as to why...
Damage control, sure...but we still want, and need, answers from the organization.
even when ross gets a slow pitch PR opportunity like calling a fan he screws it up. Why did he need to say we were going to cut marshall if we didn't trade him (a move that would've caused rioting and they are damn lucky the didn't have to make)? why would he say philbin didn't like flynn (I am sure philbin didn't want that out there---even assuming it's true)?
I swear I have no idea how ross became successful. This just shows me that success in the real estate market has more to do with luck than brains---see donald trump

Yeah, but don't you think this is a case of damned it you do, damned if you don't (explain that is)?
....And do you have to take him down so low as Donald Trump? LOL.
Actually, no one has been harder on the case of management for the past several years as Me.
That is one of the main reasons for the rift between myself and THE Truth.
However, like I explained in another thread, I don't criticize them for the Marshall trade, which I think was great, and for not getting Peyton or Flynn. Peyton was beyond their control and Flynn was too in a matter of speaking because the HYSTERIA over Peyton had gotten so out of control that it boosted the price of Flynn beyond that of all reason.
Everybody here knows I have no love lost for Ross, but I think this PR stunt, was probably the best thing he has done for his image and ownership of our team in a long time... While I understand what Berk is saying about the Marshall flub, I think Ross had to be honest with the fan and answer the questions he wanted to ask, you cant open up and take an everyman 25 minute phone call, and dance around issues... I think PR wise, Ross bucked up, tried to be honest, and it was a good move for him... He also took the heat and attention off of Ireland which was greatly needed, the more the medai and fans focus on Ireland, and his bad perosnality the worse off for Ross... Tickets sales are down so low, he needs to change up his game...Lets see if his actions and the team follow what he expressed in the interview, it is easy to talk the game, not so easy to back it up...

For a team owner to call a 20 year season ticket holder who was protesting is phenomenal in itself. Actually, I admire Ross for what he did. He was being completely honest, and what he said eliminated speculation with his in depth answers.
It confirmed what even I have thought - Marshall pissed off more than just the fans with his dropped passes and character issues, & Flynn didn't impress Philbin enough for him to tell Ross to go ahead pay him 8mil a year. I didn't think he deserved that kind of money yet, & neither did Philbin.
