...that Ross is just CHEAP? If you look at some things this argument could be made. The failure to get any of the big name coaches he's courted (Cowher, Gruden, Harbaugh, Fisher). The unwillingness to go after/inability to sign big name free agents. The constant searching for impact skill players in the bargain bin. The use of high draft picks on positions that are lower paying. Have we been turned into the Detroit Lions circa 1970's?

The real problem is the confusion.

Ross, Ireland, and Philbin need to set up a press conference and set the record straight. If it hurts Flynn's feelings, oh well.

For the sake of a once proud franchise, they have some explaining to do, because right now, whether you are for or against what's happened so far, you can't deny that our team/organization is a national laughingstock.

No. He made B Marshall the highest paid WR at the time, he paid big bucks to Dansby also. He just needs to catch a break IMO.

I don't think "cheap" is accurate, when our team payroll is anywhere near the salary cap. If we were $100 Million under cap, then I'd say he was cheap.

Dolphaholic, listen bud, I am with you on everything he has done so far. Trading Marshall, not signing Flynn...everything.

But let's be real, he needs more than just a break. This franchise has gotten worse and worse (somehow with seemingly more talent).

Ireland better do something right and do it fast.

This franchise (on a national level) at its lowest point ever. We are a national embarrassment. I literally had to stop listening to sports talk radio because we are getting demolished.

I guess a better question might be is he spending the money in the right places or allowing others to? To me it looks like NO. I think this 'bargain' hunting has a lot to do with the current state of affairs. I can't believe a smart, successful business man is just dumb or tolerates incompetent people around him. I know it's been beat to death but the steadfast refusal to go after/draft a big name QB and the big money it costs tells me something.

I was talking about the last several years JC not just this one. We have whiffed on SEVERAL QB decisions and I can't help but think that MONEY was a factor in most of them. I know its a business and Ross is a business man but I'M A FAN. I don't care how much money he gives someone if it helps us win.

You know. A couple of nights ago, a cricket got somewhere in my house near my chimney. Drove me crazy all night. But he went away.

Hope he doesn't come back.

BTW, it seems that Patsfan1 is back with his never-ending call for our team to fail.

Welcome back, cricket.

I honestly got a chuckle out of this Chyren, but is dolfan1 any worse then some of the supposed "true" fans on this board anymore?
