First off, I highly doubt Cleveland takes him at #4, heard a Browns beat reporter on Sirius who said she doubts it also, said they're OK with Colt McCoy (obviously they tried for RG3, but IMO half-heartedly) and surrounding him with talent, doubt they pass on Richardson or Blackmon. So if the Browns pass on Tannehill, who else is gonna jump us for him??? No one now that Seattle signed Flynn.
Second question; All the scouting reports on this guy that i've read/heard say "very athletic, extremely accurate and highly intelligent". Sounds to me like in the right system, he's got a huge upside, yet some of the people I trust most on this board are dead against drafting him. I get the lack of experience thing, but it sounds like he's perfect for the WCO, am I missing something, because IMO i'd rather have him then Flynn any day.
Note to author...signing Tannehill means completely rebuilding. Not where we should be after three + years with this General Manager. No rookie is going to get us in to even round one of the playoffs his first year.
Fire Ireland and don't pass on Richardson, or Blackmon should they drop to us. Go with Moore and move on. Maybe, the Jets will release Greg McElroy after the draft and we sign him as a backup.
Save the money towards next years cap space....Brees will probably want out of New Orleans by then, and we don't want to screw that up a second time.
We need to trade down and pick up another 1st round pick in 2013.
We need to ammo to mov up and get Barkely ( although we may not have to move up to get him, looks as if we will already. E the worst team in the league).

Yes exactly. I agree. I hope we trade down now that griffin and luck are out of the question.
Any other qb left in this years draft is a project...Go for the sure thing next year.

With Irelands luck, the fans on this board would blame him
I am ok w/ Moore returning, will take a deep breath and accept Gerard but I do not wantto spend a first round on Tanneyhill. The guy is to much of a project. People are quoting what they read on him not what they have seen. He completed 60% of his passes Wheeden completed 72% Played only one full year as a starter. From what I have seen of the two I would take Cousins in the 2nd over this guy in the first. We dodged a mine on Flynn now we have to dodge another on w/ Tanneyhill. Use the first pic on DeCastro pleeeasse.

Of course, Tannehill played in a pro offense with pro routes. Weeden didn't. You would expect Weeden to complete more passes in that offense. And Tannehill had a ton of passes dropped by his receivers.
Gil Brandt has Tannehill as the 7th best prospect in the draft. Brandt routinely correctly predicts 25-28 of the first round picks every year. He is rarely wrong about where guys will go in the draft.
Tannehill has the size, arm, footwork, smarts, and athleticism for the position. And Sherman coached him for 4 years.
Most college teams don't run NFL offenses. The route trees are different. The playcalls are more complex, particularly in the WCO. And Tannehill already has that experience. It would ease the transition.
But, it's all moot, because Cleveland is going to take him at #4 anyway.
Tannehill is not athletic enough or plays at a high enough level fo some of you on this board to want him to be your QB. That's right your one of them holic. I don't see us taking a part time college QB with the 8th pick after Luck every one else is going to be throw it against the wall, and see what sticks. As for you calling me a racist when I have African roots that's just plain DUMB. It's all because I don't like this years glamor boy Griffin who was an absolute nobody last year wow, and some of you even think he is going to be better that Luck is going to be whatever.

Sherman compared him favorably to Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers. And I'm guessing his opinion counts more than any of ours.
We all have biases that may be based on pre-conceived notions that may be based on group characterizations.
As animals, it is inherent that we generalize. It is necessary for our survival. Had we not been taught to generalize concerning lions, it is doubtful that the human race would have survived.
But it's a spectrum. It is how much you generalize. Some generalizations are bound to be wrong, some are bound to be right.
It only turns into racism when you turn generalization into a belief that a certain race, be it Asian or Russian, must act in a certain way and cannot act in any other way or when they absolutely cannot do a task, not because of lack of training but because of nature.
I hardly think Finshady is a racist just because he thought Cam Newton would not make a good NFL QB and he holds the same thought about RGIII.
I think Finshady just is wedded to the old concept of the drop back QB whose main utility is his ability to stay in the pocket and pass his way to success.
I wonder what he would have thought of Fran Tarkington, had he been as old as me and saw Fran play.
I also wondered whether Finshady would have liked Bob Griese when he played at Purdue and thrilled us all at Ross Ade Stadium with his scrambling.
With the 8th pick the Dolphins will trade down one spot to 9th and give up a third round pick to trade down.. That would make perfect sense with the rest of what is going on with this front Office.. There explanation will be player x was valued at 9th in the draft and we did not want to over reach....
That's tight another athlete forced to play QB, and not the other way around. Once again give me Dan Marino, Dan Fouts Warren Moon Drew Bledsoe,Tom Brady even the traitor Peyton Manning with a solid offensive line, and my team beats your most Sundays. Athlete play wide reciever safety you get the picture. The QB only has to be the field general if the play braks down throw the ball away. Don't risk an injury. Live to throw it another down. Athletic QB's get killed just asked those who have run in the NFL. So yes I am old school, and I don't like this new age crap. The QB is the field general. He leads his troops into battle. That's what Marino did for 17 years, and I would take him right now over any athletic QB in the history of this game.
