I agree with every word Chyrene. Its a buisness, we all know that , but there comes a time when I believe an organization owes a person like Peyton Manning more then just money. The City , the fans should let that be known.
Right Treasure, and even if its not money you can do, even if you have to let someone go, you do it in a classy manner. You wait for a decent time. You call them in alone. You don't do it in circumstances that can't help but tip off everybody else it is being done. You do it in a manner in which they themselves can break the news and let everybody know. Hell, you do it so that they can say they resigned or at least offered their resignation. You give them their dignity.
Is this the same Irsay from the 70's owner of the Baltimore Colts or a son?
well I was totally wrong with manning. I thought there was no chance Indy just let him go and that neither side wanted that. But everyone with strong ties to manning is gone, and the owner seems to be content to let the new folks push him out. So even if his health improves, looks like he'll be a FA. Kind of classless if you ask me.

Didn't our O-line give up the 2nd most sacks in the league last year? I'm sure he'll be looking at that, as well as what type of offense we'd run.
I agree that Marshall and Bush would entice him, just not sure the right side of our O-line would.

That was mostly early in the year, but, yes, we need to shore up the right side of the line. John Jerry seemed to come into his own last year, but Vernon Carey stunk.

He knows we would be looking into that for sure. Our oline improved as the season progressed. The addition of a healthy Manning would make everyone better. He doesn't want a Team rebuilding, he wants a Team who is a QB away from contending. We are almost Taylor fit for him.
If we sign payton he better be a free agent. I really hope we dont give any draft picks for a player whose got about 2 good years left and is coming off an injury.
I think the Colts are willing to let him go , ONLY becuase of how lucky they are to be in the position to draft another franchise/possible Pro bowler starter and they can't retain the both of them. They stepped in shit and they know it.
what is the details on mannings injury, i thought it was nerve damage that effected his tricept muscle. I dont know if it is his throwing or non throwing arm. I assume throwing. If that is the case i would not go afterhim unless he can play now. Otherwise you will blow what 18+ mill easy.
Thats why I wouldn't even entertain the idea of signing him...I wouldn't want to be part of him getting hurt again or the possible ramifications of such an injury. While injuies can and do happen, Manning has had a serious spinal column injuy and if he gets hit again he could very easily end up in a wheel chair for the rest of his life...football simply isn't woth that at this time in his life. Manning simply has nothing left to prove....even if he thinks he does.
He should retire and coach or join the boadcast booth.

I'm NOT for blowing the other two options off and signing manning, but dude stop being such a Drama Queen. In order for Manning to play again ANYWHERE he needs to pass a physical. if he is a blow away from christopher Reevesville , No Doctor will clear him , and no Team will take a chance on him. Miami will make sure he is ready to rock if signed. If Not , Then Ross will waste $18 Million and set back our chances of succeeding back several more years.
If healthy, I wouldn't mind signing Manning at all this year if he is willing to take only a 2 - 3 year contract. Trade down and draft a QB in the 1st round (maybe Tannehill), and have him learn behind Manning for 2 years, like Rodgers did behind Favre. We would become instantly competitive, and have our franchise QB for the future.
The only health issue with Manning is his neck - remember, he was the ironman of the NFL having never missed a start in his career before the neck injury, so he's not exactly injury prone. As TCPF said, make sure the doctors clear him and he passes a physical first.
