Some of the most shallow-minded stuff that I've ever seen.
CROWDER's absence in the KC game just proved how much he means to MIAMI's "D". He will be resigned.
So will CAREY, who's an upper echelon RT, who also is pretty good at LT. SATELE is a finesse C, but a very good-looking pulling G, and of course, there's SMILEY and D THOMAS, not to mention the fact that ALLEMAN's playing well. We may not see MIAMI go after a G, but MIAMI may go after a C, depending on how the JOHNSON experiment works out. If HAYNOS works out, TE is off the list of needs. But MIAMI definitely WILL be looking for a big and fast WR in F/A or the Draft, and one more T. That's basically it for Offense, and CROWDER.
MIAMI will look for an ILB, in F/A or the Draft. They may have already found that "aging vet w/ some gas left in his tank, who still wants to play football", and if so, only 1 more ILB is needed. TORBOR will be back, and hopefully where he belongs, which is OLB. ROTH is too good as a strongside OLB to even think about replacing. And if he can get down to 265/270, he'll pick up an extra half-step and be even better. I think that SOLIAI has worked himself into a job at NT unless lack of discipline does him in: it's never been about "lack of talent" i/m/o. But even so, NT will be addressed since FERGUSON will be 35 next year. CB and S will BOTH be addressed in both the Draft and F/A...at least 1 of each, the emphasis being on a bigtime, playmaking FS and another solid CB. SS isn't a really big need i/m/o.
Well, that's it, i/m/o. MIAMI's biggest and first task is to re-sign all of its own solid UFAs, then go after a topshelf WR, a solid CB, a playmaking FS, depth at OT, a solid ILB and a topshelf NT in F/A and the Draft. Nothing else, unless another PENNY-type or a S/Ts "beast" falls into our lap.
We just got rid of Fred Evans last year because of off field problems...no tanks
Our draft position is better than I originally thought in regards to our pick from Washington. They give us the 45th pick so as of right know we have....
1-26
2a-45
2b-58
3-90
4-122
5-154
7-186
That will change with compensatory awards but that's still 4 top 100 picks to upgrade the team. Jeremy Macklin would be nice but he will be gone by the time we pick at 32
