This is what is going to happen:
The Rams swap #2 and #4 with Cleveland and CLE takes RG3. Rams 2 biggest needs are WR and OL. With that deal they are assured of getting either Kalil or Blackmon, players they'd have taken at #2 anyway. Anything they get from the Browns is a bonus---and it will include their 2d 1st rounder anyway. It makes too much sense not to happen. Rams won't trade with anyone else lower than #4, b/c it will ensure they don't get 1 of the 2 big time players they want.
RG3 come Combine time will absolutely blow people (GM's and Coaches) away. He will run a 4.4 40, and he will be the most accurate passer there...to include Andrew Luck. He will score atleast a high 30's on his Wonderlic Test, because he is super smart.
RG3 will be the #1 or, most likely #2 pick. There is absolutely no way in the world he goes past 2 after the combine he is going to have.

I'd be very surprised if Luck throws at the combine.
But The Rams don't need a QB , and they do need Picks.
The Dolphins record is not accurate of the quality of this Football Team. We can afford to give up a few #1's for a player like RGIII. And.......I'm hearing in the college coaching circles (I can PM to let you know who I spoke to today) That Fisher and Irlend go back and might have a deal already come draft day. Ross needs to create excitment , and some other teams assitant Coach and a Lineman won't cut it. he needs to make a big splash and move up to get him if he expects to sell seats.
Truth, I think that’s a great insight on your part, and I 100% agree.
Luck does NOT have an arm to showcase and therefore it will be smarter for him to minimize that fact and show his chops in a controlled work-out of his own design.
I still think RGIII is being hyped, at least on this board, and seriously doubt he’s a #1 pick. But I remain open to how his game is evaluated and how he showcases his talents for the NFL guru’s.
But, I would bet there will be several QB prospects at the combine that have (a) better accuracy than RGIII and (b) bigger guns. He will be the top athlete, and probably by a significant margin. But like Brady proves, you don’t have to be the best athlete on the field to be a highly productive NFL QB. But of course, you do have to have the nicest nails.
Sasquatch (Bulgarian, right?) would be a great RT and we should seriously consider that possibility IMO. Definitely a dominant earth-mover and surprisingly illusive.

If the Rams need OL, then let's just trade Jake Long and our #8 to move up to #2. Then we can take a LT in the 2nd round. It's risky, but it will get us a better QB than Matt Ryan, so the whole Long/Ryan debate would be over.

I would do that, but I think it may take a little more. Would you throw in this years 2d rounder?

I'm not saying it won't/can't happen, but if Fisher was dumb enough to commit to a trade in Jan because he likes a certain GM, and not listen to other offers that might blow ours away, is laughable to put it mildly. If you believe that, then you might believe my Bigfoot reports as well
yeah, Fisher likes Ireland so much that he's committed to trading with him, and yet didn't take the job b/c he didn't want to work with him, makes sense....

I'd either go for this years 3rd or next years 2nd. We'd have a hole at LT to fill.

On the whole, I'd make a trade like that.
Considering that we'd be sending them a proven commodity who was the #12 overall puck just 4 years ago...I'd probably ask for a little more in return.
Long and #8 for #2 and their 3rd AND we swap 2nd's.
If you look at the starting LT's on the Super Bowl winners the last 10 years...not one of them was a top 15 pick and only one (Tarik Glenn) was a1st round selection.
Besides...if we are going to draft RG3 a shut down LT is less of a priority due to his mobility.
