Hey guys I live in Richmond, Va and am wondering if anyone has any clue how CBS selects games to air every Sunday. The Dolphins are on an incredible run but CBS chooses to show Bills at Jets this Sunday. I spoke to the sports director at the local CBS station and he told me the network selects the games and he is not real happy with the choices either. Is anyone else having this problem in their area?
No because I am a fanatic and I got NFL ticket the moment it was available in Illinois. Do yourself a favor and get it so you don't have to depend on suits to tell you what game you can watch.
I tried but don't have a clear line of sight so satelite won't work for me. Man I think I'm gonna start watching Soccer! At least I could see the team I wanted to see on television.
I believe this to be true. The affiliate here in West Palm Beach chooses to carry every sold out Dolphins game, but it is clear that they could carry any other game they have access to if they wanted. We almost had to watch the Jests last week.

The rules are complicated... but basically it comes down to this. The local network affiliate gets to choose which game to air, unless they are in a "home market" for a team carried on that network, in which case they HAVE to show that game, unless they are blacked out due to non-sellout.
Usually, the network will have a "national" game that will have their top-broadcast team, which they try to make the most "popular" game that week they have access to... and if in a non-NFL market 99% of the time the local afiliate will choose that game, but they do not HAVE TO.

I prefer Showtime with Dexter (in Miami), Californication (Paula Marshall is the sexiest woman alive) and Brotherhood (Irish Sapranos) but Warren Sapp sucks on Inside the NFL. Actually the new cast sucks.
They swapped James Brown for Bob Costas which is good. They traded Phim Sims for Marino and Warren Sapp for Chris Collinsworth. WTH.
