Hard to say. Our defense is having a lot more trouble this year. I'd rather get a defensive-minded coach.
Ross will hire his boyfriend C. Peterson who will bring Schottenheimer,Vermeil, Gunther Cunningham or Herm Edwards and the mediocrity will continue in Miami.
Bill Cowler. Let him have his way. Start over. We have a decent nucleus of a ball club for him to start with. Hopefully we get the #1 draft pick and can start a new Era in the AFC East. Its been too long. He can bring us some respect back.

Dick Vermeil? He's 75 years old!! Why not bring back Don Shula, then?
I am afraid neither Gruden nor Cowher will have the drive they had before they left for the cushy confines of broadcasting, and we could have a JJ repeat. That's my concern with those guys (that and I am not sold either is all that amazing anyway).
Jeff Fisher I'd be OK with. Hell even Brian Billick---why does no one ever want to hire him over that past 3 years? He won the same # of SBs as the others. Rob Ryan----why exactly? b/c he is brother of Rex?

JJ had a Ton of drive and created one of our Best defenses. We still had plenty of respect back then. When he lost the drive , he asked to leave. His Parents died and I respect him for addmitting it and moving on.
That said.......I think Cowlher is committed after the death of his wife, but things could change if he meets someone else and the pressure gets too much. I'm with you but I think he's worth the risk.
I think Gruden has ALOT to prove. Everyone thinks he won with the Team that Dungy built. So drive wise, I give it to Gruden........but thats a completely outsider subjective statement. Hopefully Ross will interview them and make the right choices. Heizengia certainly DID NOT.
I have more confidence in Huizenga's choices than Ross at this point. Ross seems like a clueless buffoon. I can see him hiring Peterson and Peterson telling him to keep the genius Ireland. Then we will get whatever dregs coaches will accept that arrangment.

Right, then he came back for another year just after 'quitting' the first time. This was the real mistake. His heart wasn't in it and he handed the job to Wanny. We should have made a clean break with JJ and his handpicked successor at that point.

No, Heizenga begged him to stay one more year.He was done after the death of his parents and stayed that last year and was blown out in his last game with Dan Marino. When he brought Wanny in as an assistant ,it went down hill from there. That was JJ's bad move......suggesting Wannastadt as his replacement. JJ was on the way to building another championship team. I have no doubt. I think he was frustrated with having to deal with the Dan Marino Aura and felt he couldn't compete with the team that Marino built. No doubt though, he quit in 99' and was woooed back by Heizenga for that last year.
