Ghoti, you are too smart for such a ridiculous comment. No I am not basing my opinion of henne on 1 Q of 1 preseason game. How about his 3 seasons as the phins QB?

context. I was responding to people who were talking "franchise tag" and long term agreement" based on his last 2 preseason games; I was pointing out the absurdity of that by referencing the preseason as well. these posts would be quite long if each one had to include every background fact of a player's career in order to make a point.

I don't hold the fact that he sat on the bench as a rookie against him---other than it was an additional year of sitting and learning so he should have been ahead of the curve when he started to play. Everyone compares him to sanchez, but he started as a rookie and they are basically the same statistically the first few years. but again it's not all stats with henne--he can make some good plays but it is the horrible ones, and the ineptitude with the game on the line, that are the problems. I will be the first to happily admit I was wrong about him should he hopefully have a great season. But I think we'd all have to say that would be a pleasant surprise at this point given his *career* to this point.

ghotirule: “I get it. Fans are angry and looking for someone to blame.”

No, you absolutely DON’T GET IT.

Stop the incessant BS lane ass excuses for the shit box QB situation we’ve been suffering with. Really. Who the ***k are you not going to hold accountable except Henne?

Some people actually know what a good QB looks like and how he performs on the field. To this point Henne is NOT a good QB by any barometer.

Seriously, cut the crap. Once again, the kid is utterly worthless on the trade market. He has inspired ZERO confidence around the league. His career in Miami has been a huge disappointment SO FAR.

Like I said: You don’t get it. No one “hates” the kid. That’s like juvenile crap. But a lot of us don’t care for his game whatsoever.

Moving forward, let’s see week by week what Henne is all about. But don’t try to sell me how “underrated” and/or “underappreciated” Henne has been. And that his game has been “really pretty decent.” Barf! His game has stunk like a dead squirrel rotting on the interstate for 5 days.

BNF.

BNF,

I think this response is quite uncalled for. We know how you feel, but the profanity is completely unnecessary. In fact, you actually proved ghotirule's point about being angry. If that's not an angry post, then I don't know what is.

That was mild for BNF. You must not be familiar with his posts.

I don't mind the profanity. I like to feel like I'm hanging out at a bar with friends when discussing my Phins. But obviously others do so, I respectfully obstain.

No offense intended. Especially without a legit QB.

Good points.....What a way to start the season. Against a super talented/strong team led by an elite QB and coach. I wish them luck but I am pretty certain I know (as you all do) the outcome of this one.

And there you go, making it obvious that it's really a "blame everything on Henne" agenda, ignoring reality. He single-handedly gave the Pats a win on MNF. Really? So, that was him allowing a 103 yard kickoff return for a TD? And that was him missing those blocks on the blocked punt and the blocked FG? The Pats scored more than half their points thanks to what was considered maybe the worst special teams performance in NFL history. And yet, Chad Henne single-handedly gave the Pats the win. Sure he did.

Forgive me if someone already mentioned this interesting fact given by Mathew Berry of ESPN.

"Last season, Joe Flacco attempted 489 passes. Chad Henne attempted 490. Of those, Flacco had 320 catchable balls (per Stats LLC). And Henne? 321 catchable balls."
