LOL!
Early reports make it seem like Grimes has a good chance to regain his ProBowl form, so I think quotes like this are hilarious....as long as Wallace doesn't turn out to be a real a$$hole.

On where Ryan Tannehill is in the maturation process) – “I guess one way to describe him is he’s a gym rat. He loves football; he’s been here an awful lot. He's been working out with the guys on their own, nothing orchestrated by us, well before the offseason program began. Those are all good indicators that somebody wants to be good. That’s kind of step one. If you don’t have players that want to be great, it’s hard for them to keep climbing and keep accelerating their development. That’s point number one that we’re excited about. He’s made some improvements physically and it looks like he's throwing the ball well.”

I like what I hear in this statement. While he didn't go as far as Sherman did in that radio interview, I think this is as good of a compliment riddled opinion as you'll get from Coach.

"Been here an awful lot", "Gym rat". These are the kinds of things you hear about the Mannings of the league. They live at the gym and the tape room. They never leave the facility. They are the first ones in and the last ones out. I smell a great in the making.

Wallace- doesnt mince words and is a bit of a jokester.. He was worried Gibson and Keller look slowed in drills but their speed picked up a lot once they got on the field today. He said Hartline thought Grimes had fallen down but he was really just back pedaling and is short... He followed up by saying Grimes is one of the most athletic guys he has ever seen..

Reshad Jones- said he missed practice because of personal reasons not related to his contract

Philbin -said Ellerbe took alot of snaps, and they need him to coordinate getting the front seven lined up, and we like what we see so far.. Seems like he is the front runner for being the mik from that comment. Philbin said, Pouncey won the leadership award for last year, Cam Wake won MVP, and Fields won community award.

Philbin also said the pace of practice and running raps back to back with 2 fields really helps the FA and UDFA get equal reps this time of year. On other teams, guys low on the totem pole get few reps, his way, those players get a lot of reps and which is good for evaluating everybody.

Philbin said they changed up some of the way they did practice because he believed the pace of practice and back to back reps limited their space and ability to work on the long ball more, so they changed some things to correct issues like that, they were able to realize. Practice limited their ability work on the long ball effectively and regularly
They had Will Yeatman playing guard today, Philbin said it was for flexility reasons, and to give him a better chance to make the team if he can play multiple positions on the line, so they started out with him at guard by design..

Hartline said the practice pace is even faster this year then last year

Jamar Taylor our 2nd rd pick did not participate in practice today and Philbin didnt want to discuss it. (sports hernia update by Jesse)

Jared Odrick- lined up on the interior of the Dline today not DE..

Listening to ESPN radio on my way to the doctor this morning and heard some tidbits about the SB site for 2016+2017 being announced later today. What intrigued me was that the host was saying that Houston, San Fransisco, AND Miami were all potential front runners for 2017 while San Fran was pretty much a lock for 2016.

Now call me crazy, but didn't everyone on the board say that with the stadium upgrade funding bill being shot down and the new upgrades being dead in the water that Sun Life stadium is out of the SB hosting business? I guess I'm looking for clarification. Are we looking at hosting a SB in the next few years possibly even without the new upgrades?

You can't have too many good receivers, and I think he could have been a productive receiver for this team for some time. I don't like that move at all as I know Bess will have something to prove when we play Cleveland the 1st game of the season. Is the thinking that Rishard Matthews will take his place, and be a bit bigger, and faster? Now if so then I can see the move if not then we are one injury away from having a thin receiving corps again. Something tells me that at some point in the season we are going to wish we still had Bess on this roster.

And quote 2 is the main purpose of this thread and the main point.....

Why was it that nobody wanted to come here before.

1. was it sparano
2. Was it the tuna.
3. Was it money
4.insert your thought here
5. Or here

We got the same owner....Ireland is still here...

Maybe someone can come up with the black sheep ( no longer on this team ) who was the reason why players did not want to play for the phins...

Even coaches didnt want to come here. Like harbaugh form 49ers.

I remember everyone here having a hard time with this matter...A lot of down faces on this forum....And with reason.
I have my fair share of questions but Heath Evans of NFL Network just destroyed every move we made this offseason, right to Jesse's live on air... I think Evans dissing every move is just as foolish as others banking them as solidified.. I just don't see how the guy could dislike all of it.... He personally came across as a guy with an axe to grind IMO... But there are opinions out there in the press such as Evans but this is the worst I have heard... Almost uncalled for from a guy being a profesional...

I had lunch with some high ranking state elected officials in the republican party with ties to the Speaker and the governors office... I asked them what really happened... They said, Norman Braman and other high profile billionaire republicans killed the deal and scared Weatherford... They said Braman and his coalition warned Ross beforehand if he tried to fast track it through legislation they would kill it, Ross arrogantly ignored them and blew them off..
What scared the politicians is they were convinced that Braman and his coalition are locals and here to stay for the long term and Ross is not... Also Braman and friends have a much more brutal reputation then Ross at taking out politicians.. They referenced some mayor in Dade that Braman personally destroyed his political career... They said Ross is very much an outsider in Florida politics, while Braman and his coalition are very well versed.... They said Ross was very naive going about it as he did.... They said ultimately Ross didnt have the votes or support from either side of the isle.... Should have shelved for another session... The killing was more a sediment from Braman and coalition to embarrass Ross for ignoring their stern warning... They wanted him to know why....They said the group that was opposing Ross does not mess around at all and are extremely feared...

Granted that there is a lot of time left before the ball gets hiked this season, I though it'd be a good exercise to look at status of our division as it stands.

New England:
I think the Pats are going to have a bumpy road this year in comparison to last. Last year they led the league in passing. This off season they let go of their number 1 and 2 receivers in Lloyd and Welker. I think that this was a big mistake. With issues of injury lingering over their star TE's, and no real threats to speak of for Brady to throw to, this smells like a year for them to take a step back on offense. I know in the past that Brady and coach have made no name players into producers, I just think they've got too many problems to stay at the level of production they need to to get past the rest of the division.

Buffalo Bills:
Everyone on this board will agree, without a solid producer under center, you're a ship without a rudder. The Bills have Manuel and Kolb to hold down the position this year, but I doubt either will produce enough to do much. Combine their lackluster roster and its gaps with a first year head coach, plus switching from 4-3 to 3-4 on defense, I think the Bills are headed for a 2 win season.

NY Jests:
Doughnut boy is on the hotseat. They drafted a spoiled brat to replace Sanchez. The running game that was the bread and butter of their offense is now a joke of its former self. The only positive thing I see on this team is their secondary and that they got rid of Sparano. They are in for a rough year and I think Ryan gets canned this year, possibly during the second half of the season. He doesn't have any discipline in the locker room.

Miami:
Trying to speak without bias is hard, but I think Miami is primed to win the division this year. Given the status of the other teams and the direction they are headed, Miami finally has an edge. We have the roster(or very close to it), we have the coaching staff, and the time is right.

Call me a homer, but I think Miami wins 11 games this year and wins the division.
