Last modified: June 28 2008 04:20:53. EST

What follows is a list of places to watch the Dolphins games around the country (and even in Canada). Obviously, it is not a complete list and any and all comments, additions and/or deletions are welcome. Please send them to me at curt@phins.com.

If an entry is highlighted with a light aqua background, it has been added or changed in the latest update

Disclaimer: I haven't visited most of these places (except for some of the ones in Mass) and I make no claims about them, other than they are supposed to show Dolphins football on TV. The comments in the comments section are from fans who write me about the places, but are unverified by me and I take no responsibility for the validity of them.

Select your state from this list:

City Name Address & Comments
Alabama
Birmingham Bob Baumhower's
Wings Sports Grille
2 Locations in Birmingham - It is an excellent place to watch a Dolphins game on Sunday. Yes, this is the Bob Baumhower that used to play for the Dolphins. They have several satellites which can pick up almost any game in the country and have two huge projection screens in the bar as well as TVs throughout the restaraunt. There are various Dolphins memoralbilia scattered throughout the restaraunt, as well as Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers and other NCAA and NFL collectables. They even have a web site you can check out at www.wingsportsgrille.com.

Alaska
Anchorage Sports Edition Below the Hilton. They have one big screen TV and 7 corners where there are a group of 3 TV's... (for a total of over 20 TV's) so you can watch 3 different games at once. The place is very crowded for the Sunday early games, and starts to thin out for the Sunday late games as I am sure most places do. They have an all you can eat brunch buffet for $6.99 which is pretty good. Also free popcorn. The big screen rarely gets the Dolphins, unless it is the Sunday ESPN game, or the Monday night game. However, if the Phins play a Sunday early game they are on most of the time. For some reason, the way they have the Satellites set up at the "Sports Edition" one or two Sunday early games usually doesn't get put on. But it is very rare if the dolphins are one of the teams that doesn't get put on.

The only frustrating thing about the "sports edition" as is probably not uncommon among sports bars on early sunday morning.... is that there is a lot of flipping of channels and satellites the first 15 minutes of the games, as the management is trying to get on the satellites as many games as possible... so you are bound to be switching seats with people as the games get put on the TV's.

Anchorage Eddies Sports Bar 6300 old Seward Hwy. There seems to be a very good Dolphins crowd at this sports bar.  They have 1 big screen, which usually shows the Dolphins.  There are also about 10 other TV's throughout the bar.  They have an all you can eat brunch for $7.99 as well as a full menu and bar.  The head cook is a Dolfan.
Arizona
Flagstaff Mulligans
Pub & Grub
at Milton Road and Route 66 Mulligans has beer, wine, mixed drinks and an extensive menu. Well behaved kids are OK. Twenty 32inch TV's and one big screen.....every game is on but majority rules on the big screen so come vote Dolphins and go skiing or head to the Grand Canyon in time for sunset after the game!
Mesa RT O'Sullivans Dolphins fans show up. And the managment of the bar cares about football and helping their customers, more so than other bars.
Sedona The Coffepot Just south of Sunset Drive on 89A in West Sedona No kids, mixed drinks, beer & wine and a nice Mexican & sandwhich menu. Four TV's & one big screen...again majority rules on what to watch. After the game watch the sun set over the red rocks on the banks of Oak Creek Canyon to the songs of the coyotes......nice
Tempe McDuffy's 230 West 5th Street
California
Alta Loma Sam's Place Clean with great beer and food.
Anaheim ESPN Zone at Downtown Disney. They carry every game on Sundays. The giant screen will carry the Raiders, Chargers or if they are not on the Rams. Great Vegas sports book atmosphere and always crowded. If you get there early, you can sit at the bar and have the Dolphin's game right in front of you. When you get there, ask the bartender to tell which TV the Phins game will be on and grab a chair. Usually several Phins fans around. Great food, cold beer and every game on at once as well as all the game stats. Awesome place to watch the game. If you show up at 9:30 you can get a seat at the bar. If there is a group of 4 or more, you can get one of the private rooms to watch the game in! Parking is free if you show your ESPN Zone receipt (Don't forget the receipt or it will cost you, big time). Exit off I-5 in Annehiem at the Downtown Disney Exit and follow the signs. On Sundays during the season they open at 9:00 am.
Bakersfield Papa O's (formerly
Lamppost Pizza Parlors)
At any one of several Lamppost Pizza parlors in Bakersfield, they televise all the NFL games. Call any one of them and they will tell you which pizza parlor is televising a particular game. 25-30 Dolphins fans congregate at the one on Coffee and Hageman each week.
Campbell Off The Hook
sports bar & grill
2369 Winchester Blvd. to the left of Safeway when facing it. 408-374-3257. Generally All Games, but you need to get there early and ask to watch your game, best way to make sure. They have a great Breakfast buffet, but the buffet is gone by 11:30 or so and regular menu fare after that. Sports atmosphere, large place with tv's out back for the smokers(no smoking inside like most of california). Always a few dolphins fans, though they don't seem to show up early. used to be Gary's sports bar and grill

San Diego)
Dad's Cafe It has a great, friendly atmosphere. The people that own it rre rally nice people. It is a large place with 6 different rooms in which to view games. So the popular teams each get their own room (according to crowd size.) The Dolphins do have their own room.
Redondo Beach Dante's Inferno None
Redondo Beach Redondo Beach Brewing Company A Fan writes: (it) has a Bartender that knows as much if not more about the beloved Phins than anyone I have ever met..so for anyone wanting to watch the Dolphins in a great place with a couple of Floridians (me and my bro) and one bartender (Stephan) that lives, eats, and sleeps the Phins..come on down. Not a ton of TV's, but you can bet your ass one will be on the Dolphins..oh yeah that would be the big flat screen tv..
San Diego Brewing Company On friars Rd. in San Diego, 1.5 miles East of Qualcomm Stadium. Close to Coco's restaurant or Petco...Nice friendly place.
San Marcos The North County Sports
Dome / The Asylum
On San Marcos Blvd, just south of hwy 78 It's primarily a raiders bar, but they have several televisions, cute waitresses, and excellent food. There are usually about ten fin fans there every sunday. It's in the city of San Marcos, about 20 miles north of San Diego.
San Francisco Bayside's Bar and Grill on Union Street. They have dozens of TV's with every game on....the only downfall is having to deal with all the 49er fans.
San Francisco Blue Light on Union Street. The bartender is a dolphin fan so the dolphins game is almost always on (with sound which is a big bonus). There are usually 2 to 4 other games on too. They only have small screens, though.
San Francisco Pat O'Shea's Mad Hatter Crowded & mostly small screens, but shows many games and has several Dolfan regulars. Good food.

San Francisco Zeke's Sports Bar corner of 3rd street and Brannan Its got about 15 screens and houses a lot of Packer fans but the Dolphin game is always shown. It's also a lot less crowded than Bayside.
San Jose The Glen On Lincoln Ave. UP scale resaurant and billiards center with two bar areas, main bar downstairs and large billiard room/sports room upstairs both at the back behind the restaurant up front. There are 13 TV's and 2 bigscreens, Good buffet as well and typical bar menu, Cloth napkins, so a little pricey. San Jose Hi-Five Pizza at Snell and Branham. there are a few Dolfan regulars. Great food, drink at reasonable prices. Great place and all the fans from the teams get along well.

San Rafael Flatiron Bar & Grill 724 B Street. San Rafael. (415) 453-4318 It has 5 sattelite dishes, and the rooms with games. There is only one big screen, and another one is about 27 in. The rest are regular TV. They show most of the games, and of course the teams that bring the most fans get the better seats. There is no cover charge, and usually there are 6 to 8 Dolphans for the games. It'll be nice if we can double this, so we can get the big screen more often.
Santa Monica Gotham Hall On the 3rd Street Promanade. There is a 15ft projection screen open to the largest fan club to show and 4 more 4.5ft projections as well as 6 more 40in mobile flat screens. They get all of the games and are very accomadating. Full service bar and restaraunt. It also has pool tables and recliners, great atmosphere.
Simi Valley MVP Sports Southwest corner of First and Los Angeles. According to reports: The place is not very clean, not many people there, the waitresses will grudginly take your order for cold and greasy food...but, they carry all the games via satelite. [Fan] would recommend going somewhere else to catch the game, but if you have no choice, have some breakfast at home and head out to MVP.
Thousand Oaks Stuft Pizza 398 North Moorpark Road....Has a good Dolphin contingent and about a thousand TV's. Every game will be carried somewhere in the place and the breakfast pizza is awesome!!!!

Hooters 252 Queen Street. A typical Hooters, right down to the pushy service and lousy, overpriced menu, but it's a quality place to watch football. Several big screens and plenty of TV's full of football. Always crowded on Sundays but there's plenty of parking.
Brampton
Ontario
Tracks 60 Queen Street East. A cozy little neighbourhood brewpub located in a former mill hard by the railroad tracks - hence the name - in downtown Brampton. No big screens but they have several TV's scattered throughout showing whatever is on. They also have NTN QB 1 for those who think they know more than Dave Wannstedt. McGuinnis Front Row They have 2 72-inch screens up in the front and about 6 or 7 small ones scatterred around. Also they have a sattelite dish so they can show every game... and with so many TVs they'll always put whichever game you want to watch up there.
Windsor,
Ontario
Hurricanes The place has one large screen TV, with many other TVs around the room. Sunday is all football (QB1 and all that stuff), and it attracts a variety of fans (you'll find some Miami fans, but obviously the place has a few Detroit fans as well.) It's two blocks west of the Ambassador Bridge if you're coming in from Detroit. Go off the bridge and make a right towards the river. At Riverside Ave., go left and up to the first set of lights. Hurricanes is right across from the lights in a little mall with a fountain in front, and there's usually enough parking for all patrons.

Washington
Cleveland Park
The Park Bench Pub Connecticut Avenue and Ordway St. The Direct TV hook-up is downstairs in the basement bar and there are always at least a half dozen dolfans present, which often leads to them putting the game on the one big screen tv they have there (even when the 'Skins are playing!). Prices are right, and unlike the supremely annoying ESPNZone, no minimums. They also have plenty of good beers on tap, a full kitchen and beer and food specials for the games.
Washington The Rock 717 6th Street NW; across the street from the MCI Center---convenient to the Metro Red Line "Gallery Place/Chinatown" station). Telephone: (202) 842-7625 The Rock has three stories---each with separate bars, above-average food, and friendly staff. Additionally, there are "back room" areas with couches and overstuffed seats that make viewing the game as comfortable as being at home. All NFL games are shown, and the Dolphins will be on multiple screens (almost always including a big screen or two). A large and boisterous group of Dolphins fans always shows up, including a sizable number of South Florida transplants.
Florida

Orlando Smokey Bones BBQ They have at least 20 TV's and 2 of them are big screens. Pretty much every game is on TV and you can request where you wanna sit or what game to watch. There were about 20 Dolphin Fans there but thats due to the dumb TV company putting on the Redskins and Steve Spurrier rather than Miami. So, I dunno how many there is when the game is actually on TV. Oh and get there 45 minutes before the game to get a good seat.

Tallahassee AJ's Sports Bars West Tennessee St Tons of TVs, good wings and fries. All the games are on, and the Florida teams usually get the big screens with sound. If you like a quiet, cozy place to watch the game, this isn't for you. If you like a stadium-like atmosphere and don't mind maybe having to stand if you get there after kickoff, this is your place.
Tallahassee Beef O'Brady's Thomasville Rd Small, more cozy atmosphere. Great food. They have a lot of TVs and will usually put the Florida teams on the big screens. You just have to hope there are seats next to that screen, so get there early.
Tampa Beef O'Brady's Various locations- they'll show Dolphins games upon request. Usually there are at least 10 to 20 Dolfans at either of the 2 northern locations for Dolphin games not usually shown on any of the local affiliates.
Tampa Ker's Wing House There are actually several Wing House's in the Tampa Bay area, but the best is on US 19, just north of Gandy Blvd. Ker was a member of the Dallas Cowboys, so there is a lot of sports memorabilia. The Wing House is much like a Hooters, but many prefer the slightly more casual atmosphere (you don't feel rushed to leave, and the ladies are much more down to earth). They have their own website at www.winghouse.com
Tampa The Press Box on the corner of S. Dale Mabry Hwy and Platt St, just south of Kennedy Blvd Good Food, good football atmosphere. Lots of screens with various games. Obviously it's a Bucs haven. And it's usually packed on Gamedays. But they have two big screen TVs up front, and the Phins game is always on one of them. There's usually some Phins fans up front in jerseys watching the game.
Vero Beach Vero Surf Restaurant 1926 86th Ave, Vero Beach, FL 32966, (561) 562-6550 Near I95 & state road 60. East 1/2 to 1 mile on right. Look for Blue sign "Surf". The restaurant Bar can't be seen directly from the highway as it's about a block off the road in a wooded area.

This place is JUST OUT OF THE BLACKOUT AREA north on I95. I've watched two playoff games here and it is a lot of fun. TV's circle the bar area, and it gets very crowded on game day. It's as fun as going to the game there and a lot cheaper.

Bethesda Chatters Wisconsin Ave; attached to a Ramada Inn. Many Fins fans there, although very crowded. $10 minimum tab. Limited menu, bad service - Note: The one report I've had from Chatters says that the service is bad only because they are understaffed, but the staff they do have tries very hard.

They have several T.V.'s and show every game, however the big screen is dedicated to the Dolphins. Around 40 Dolphins fans are there for each game. "Miami Mike" is the manager and he's quite enthusiastic, he personally greets everyone wearing dolphins attire, will often play the Fight song at half time, and generally getting the fans excited. Mike gives high fives to each Dolfan after each Dolphin score, and provides free aqua-colored shots after a Dolphins victory.

Sparta Strikers in sparta lanes bowling alley has all nfl games and will put the dolphins on big screen if the giants or jets aren't playing. a nice contingent of dolfans every sunday
West Orange Spectators It's a great sports bar specially during football season. If there are enough fans every week they will reserve a room just for those fans. There are anywhere between 40 to 60 fans every week to see the Fins play so needless to say they have a Dolphin room. They also have a huge Dolphins banner in the room courtesy of Coors Light. They had an autographed Marino jersey dedicated to Spectators but the owner pull it down because the autographed helmet was taken. Unfortunately the big screen is just for Giants & Jet fans but no other team has as many fans as the Dolphins in that place. Get there at least half hour to 45 minutes before the game starts or you wont be able to sit. It's really a great atmosphere for Dolfans. The food is decent and the prices reasonable. They even have tv's in the bathrooms. 4 stars out of 5.

Amherst Hooters On Maple Road. Typical Hooters - one big screens, several smaller ones, the Dolphins will be on one of them
Buffalo Damon's Club House chain rib joint-decent food good service-four big screens, several smaller Somewhat riotous Bill's fan (redundant?) contingent, don't wear your Marino jersey. Tables have individual audio channels-reasonable amount of nonsense with contests, trivia, etc. but bearable.

New York City Down The Hatch Christopher St. Between 6th and 7th Ave Awesome Football Sports Bar!, especially for hot wing and beer lovers. Every Sunday there's a $18 special where by you get 4 pictures of beer and unlimited atomic hot wings (regular, honey mustard, & BBQ)! 5 screens showing most popular foot ball games during that time slot. Miami is always on. To guarantee a good seat, I recommend getting there early (before 11:30). There are plenty of tables and card games are welcome (great for killing pictures of beer w/ friends)....

The Riviera 225 West 4th street (on corner of 7th Avenue) This is a good restaurant and very popular sports bar downstairs. The bar food is great, they have 3 big screen TVs, about 8 smaller ones, and every game is always on. They have most of the preseason games too. The beer selection isn't phenomenal, but the atmosphere is usually rocking. Jim, the big bartender, is a great guy and treats his customers well - even we Phin Fans!

At 84/85 & 3rd. Has a multi-screen subscription to NFL Ticket. There is a core Dolphins group that congregates there every week. Cover at the door is $5. Food is good but not great, and moderately priced (for NYC). This is also a hangout for Serious gamblers.

New York City Cannon's Pub 108th Street and Broadway. They have $5 rolling rock pitchers during the games, four tv's that show two games. The place is never packed as it is somewhat of a dive, and they don't serve food but you are allowed to bring your own as long as you are drinking.
New York City
(Manhattan)
Blondies 79th street between Broadway and Amsterdam Ave ....has great wings (and other stuff), and two big screen tvs. One always shows the Jets and Giants, but the other shows either the marquee showcase game (if there is one ... such as last weeks Vikings/Falcons and Dolphins/Broncos games) or whatever the back room wants to see. There is a fairly large contingent of Dolphins fans that congregate and I have only been there once when the Fins weren't big screen at least for the end of the game. They also have enough regular size sets around to show every game on at least one set. It is packed though so you need to get there early to get a table.
New York City
(Manhattan)
The Grand Saloon 23rd St and 3rd Ave They've got about 10 TVs and always show the Dolphins for the 2 or 3 of us that show up. It's a big GB Packers bar so show up at least an hour before any GB game to get a decent spot.

The food is great with specials running all day long. Home of the Dolphins.
Queens First Edition Grill & Bar on Bell Blvd & 41st Ave, Bayside
From the owner:
For the past several years, a large number of Dolphin fans regularly come to our neighborhood sports bar which was established by my father in 1948.

We are widely recognized as the best sports bar in Queens ,NYC. We are located on Bell Blvd & 41st Ave, Bayside. There are 75 TV's including 7 big screen TV's and several personal LCD wall TV's - so every seat can see several NFL games simultaneously - and we show them all.

What makes us unique is we have an extensive quality menu which ranges from wings - our customers say they are the best around - to burgers , pizza , healthy salads , grilled sandwiches/wraps , all kinds of finger foods , brunch all day - to several great entrees.

On NFL Sundays till 6 pm we run a 1/2 price promotion on several popular food items. There is no cover charge.

Syracuse Bleachers (Old Liverpool Rd., Liverpool) - - lots of cool sports memorabelia, and a full menu with booths and bar seats. Good place to watch any sports, but it gets crowded and it lost much of its personality after remodeling which included the removal of a section of stadium seats if front of one of the big-screens.
Syracuse The Juke Box (Geddes St., West side): 2 big screens, and 7 TVs, NFL Ticket, so all the games are shown. The good thing is that since the Bills are always on local TV, their fans stay home. Usually a good Dolphins contingent, and never too crowded (except Mon. nights and the playoffs). Beer specials and the best Buffalo wings around (a steal at 15 cents each) . . . but take my advice - DON'T CHALLENGE THE COOK TO MAKE HIS HOTTEST WINGS. Try to get a bar seat so you can watch 5 games at the turn of your stool.
Syracuse Pensabene's Park West None.
Syracuse Old Parochial League located on Burnett Ave. on the city's east side, just west of Teall Ave., not too far from the SU Hill. The OPL shows all the games on 10 t.v.'s and is usually invaded by Dolphins every Sunday! The bar tender will put the game on a corner t.v so all the fans of both teams can verbally spar and enjoy the game without distraction! Just steer clear of the "mini-black hole," that the 'Cuse Raider nation has established there, but it is all in good fun! There are also a lot of Packers fans in the house as well! (Fans) recommend the wings and the burgers, fairly moderate in price, sometimes they offer 10 cent wings and the beers are flowing and cheap!

Minot Bowling Alley
(Name Unknown)
There is a bowling ally in Minot, North Dakota that has a ten tvs and a big screen that will have the dolphins on at least on of them. The game are actually screened in the large bar room that has $5 pitchers and a small food selection. It is located on the main drag on top of the hill. The name escapes me, but for the people located near the city and the Air Force base will know that it is just up Rt 85.

Cuyohoga Falls Damons bar and grille Shows Dolphins games along with 3 others on giant screen TVs
Dayton Clancy's Tavern At the intersection of Burkhardt and Spinning It features two games at one time on large projection TVs and several other games on small TVs. But there weren't but a dozen Miami fans there and this late game might be an exception. Certainly, I would say that there are more Steeler and Cowboy fans there. And an ecletic mix of fans of the Colts, Bills, Seahawks, Vikings, Jaguars, etc.

Out of all the other fans that go to watch their team play the Dolphins fans represent the largest fan gathering at Stubbies..they have their own section reserved week after week, mainly because the owners know we will be there even if the game is on national television...yes this also includes Monday Night Football games.

Oklahoma City Varsity Sports Grill Two locations: 67th & Western and Bricktown (downtown) location. It is a great place to watch football. Usually there at least four or five Dolphin fans there, but The Varsity shows ALL the games, so there is a big mix of fans there. Usually, the place is filled with Cowboys, Broncos, Rams, Packers, Bears, Steelers and Titans fans. The place has two BIG screen projection TV's along with at least 18 other televisions throughout the place. And the food is great too, especially the hamburgers and the chicken strips.

From a fan: About 5-10 of us orange & aqua faithful show up every week during Dolphin season. The place is usually near capacity (about 175 people) every Sunday. The owner is not into the fins, but he likes and supports us Miami fans, mainly because we supply him with plenty of capital (5-10 guys can drink and eat a lot up here in the great NW). Furthermore, we love to trade 'grief' jabs with the Raider bozos. We'd love to hang with visiting phins from anywhere, especially Miami!

Philadelphia Cavanaughs in University City 119 South 39th Street (215) 386-4889 39th and Sansom Street There are always about 10-15 Dolfans there. We'd love to see more. The food is good, inexpensive, but the service is usually very slow.
Pittsburgh Clubhouse 20th and Carson street on the South Side. It has reasonable prices and is not too crowded. Occasionally they do not show every game, and calling ahead to make certain the Phins are on can help.
Rhode Island
Middletown The Sports Ticket Five minutes away from Newport. Good food, memoribilia galore, a couple cute waitresses.
South Carolina
Charleston Sportz Cafe 3025 W. Montague Ave. Phone (843)566-9800 They have three huge screens and fifty or so large television sets with several individual rooms for viewing each NFL game. The place is wild and packed on Sundays. The bar food is good.
Columbia Garret's Grill and Grog Warm beer, good times, & a tv at every table.
Greenville Game Time 5 Webb Rd. They have 58 tv's, 9 of which are big screens. They even have a website at Game Time

Another fan writes: I'm writing to confirm Game Time as the best place in Greenville SC to watch Dolphins football. The place is huge and laid out in such a way that you can generally have a decent view of at least five games. The food (appetizers and sandwiches) is good to excellent, as far as pub fare goes, and they have fully stocked bars, not just cheap beer. Even the chairs are stuffed, have wheels, and rotate... very comfortable, very easy to rearrange, very easy to spin to see what that cheer behind you was all about.

There are plenty of pool tables, dart boards, and video games scattered around in case the good guys are losing and you'd rather not watch, anymore.

It is a private club, meaning that you have to know a member to get in (this is of particular importance in South Carolina on Sundays... Blue Laws, and all).

West Columbia Calloway's Sports Bar 2410 Augusta Road. Phone: (803) 926-1199. Cold Beer, 30 TV's, all preseason games.

Ten miles due east of Sioux Falls. You get your own TV at your booth, Great food and great atmosphere.
Sioux Falls Mulligan's Bar None
Tennessee
Franklin Bleachers Coming from Nashville you take I-65 south to the Franklin exit (actually exit 65), head towards Franklin on Hwy 96. 118 Maples Shopping Center: Hwy 96 Franklin tel: (615) 791- 4160 They show every NFL game, and actually topped Box Seat in one of the last two years I the local entertainment mag, as "Best Area Sports Bar"
Hermitage Legends Sports bar 3436 Lebanon Rd. Hermitage,Tn. (615)882-0100 The bar itself has roughly 13 TVs and caters to a group Phin fans that congregate every week to watch the game. If it is not an bye week, the game will be put on the main big screen in the establishment over even the Titans game. Legends serves a variety of menu choices and is has a nice atmosphere.
Johnson City Legends Sports bar Has the largest big screen in the state.
Johnson City Bailey's Sports Bar It is really a sweet place with enough reasonably large TV's to watch every game; (they have Direct TV of course.) They also have four-five large screen TV's as well.
Knoxville Rookies Sports Bar North Peters Rd., West Knoxville. Shows all games, on two big screens and many smaller screens, with the Fins usually having the largest contingent (10-20, unless we are on local TV, which usually shows Oilers). Has a good menu of appetizers and sandwiches, draft and bottled beer, as well as mixed drinks. Casual atmosphere. Outdoor patio in summertime. Usually one or two sorrowful Patriots fans there to tease... Oh, by the way, be ready to see alot of Orange here.
Memphis South Beach 6102 Macon Road (at Sycamore View), shows Dolphins games. Lousy service. Waitresses are no were to be seen when you want them. Takes forever to get order if you get it. Food is So-So. Onion Rings/Hamburgers/Fries are great. The rest is not.
Nashville Box Seat 2221 Bandywood Drive. Phone: (615) 383-8018 Off Hillsboro Road in the Green Hills area. Have 15 screens. But the screens are almost all big and very easy to view, and it is still two stories and roomy. The bottom floor is a restaurant, the top floor a bar with stools and the usual games like pool and darts. They still show every NFL game. There is no longer a plurality of Dolphins fans at this bar though. Back when I wrote you about Box Seat, Dolphins and Dallas fans had some minor followings in Tennessee because there were no other winning teams in the South. Obviously, that has changed in a big way with the arrival of the Titans, nee Oilers. The audience is now very mixed, both between teams and in terms of demographics (age, etc.). (The Titans fans have the most, but there are pockets for most decent teams, especially because Titans games are always on TV at home.)
Nashville Jonathans located right on 21st Avenue in Hillsboro Village Address: 1803 21st Ave S. Phone: (615) 385-9301, Gets every single game, including Dolphins games. However, it is certainly not Nashville's #1 Sports Bar these days! Audio here is not as good as Box Seat, and is entirely a restaurant, where you will be seated. Jonathan's is long and thin, which makes it difficult to view your game if you do not get seated in a correct spot (its hard to get an angle where you can see many TVs), and it is even somewhat harder to hear your game, as the volume is kept fairly low, and Jonathans can get noisy. However, it is rather easy to find, and draws a good crowd. It is one block from Vanderbilt University, and thus the crowd here is heavily college students, and generally younger, as opposed to football die- hards of all ages that populate Box Seat.
Nashville 2nd and Goal On 2nd Avenue. supposed to be a great place to watch games. It's in the heart of the tourist district downtown and would probably be the easiest place to get to for out of towners.
Nashville Sports Cafe' On the North side of Nashville, the MetroCenter area. Address: 2292 MetroCenter Blvd Tel: (615) 256-5333 On the water which overlooks the Titans' practice facility.
Nashville Sportsman's Grille on 21st Avenue right down from Jonathan's. This is absolutely positively NOT a good place to watch NFL or Dolphins games. Firstly, its totally a restaurant; much more so than the other places here, which all have at least some "bar" component to them. Secondly, they do not have enough screens to see all games. Seven screens does not always cover all games, and even then there is no guarantee you will see seven different games. Last I was there, the manager was a Packers fan, and that game was on at least 3 TVs. Thirdly: The audio is completely turned off on all TV's. Fourth: The TV's are small, very small. Unless you are the type of person who wants to go eat a meal and that is your primary purpose, and you'd like a little football in the background, then maybe its okay.

Austin Marriott's Sports
Bar & Grille
701 East 11th St They have multiple dishes and big screens, are pretty agreeable despite the inevitable Cowboy fan contingent, and weren't too crowded--at least for the late game.
Addison (Dallas area) The Stadium Cafe 4872 Beltline Road. Located on the corner of Beltline and Addison Rd's, the Miami Dolphin fans are guaranteed the "Dolphins Den" for some of the best seating in the house. Great food, drinks, fun, and family can all attend. The local Dolphin fan club meets here for all regularly scheduled games. Come for a good time and bring your friends so they don't miss out. If you're in Dallas and you can't make it to Miami, join us for the game.

Houston Scoreboard
Sports Bar
One exit west of the intersection between I-10 (Katy Freeway) and I-610 (West Loop) in a strip mall on the SE corner of Silber Rd. and the Katy Freeway. Address: 7613 Katy Fwy. Phone: (713) 681-6987 This place is sort of the "Anti-SRO" as it is is low key, a bit blue-collar, almost a neighborhood bar. However, its reputation is excellent, it has quite a bit going for it, its shows all NFL games, and the sportswriters for the Houston Chronicle and other local periodicals watch their games here more than any other place. The place is medium-sized, and is almost entirely a "bar". You pick up a stool or a chair and put it wherever you want. Sure there is food available and tables around to sit at, but that is optional. The atmosphere here is so low-key that you could very easily spend an entire Sunday afternoon here and not order a single drink or hamburger, and nobody would notice. Here is what I think is the most unique aspect of Scoreboard: The big screen TVs are spaced evenly around the four walls of the bar. When you walk in, there is usually a sign up which tells you what game is being shown on which big screen TV. When you find your screen, you can opt to just pull up a chair or stool (there is plenty of room here; it never gets overcrowded, even on Sundays), or you can grab a table. The big screen showing your game will have audio which is quite easy to hear. However, interestingly surrounding each big-screen TV in a circle are several smaller TVs which have no sound. These TVs show the other NFL games without audio. So if there is a commercial, or you want to see what is happening in say, the Bills- Jets game, you need not get up from your seat to find out the game will be on a small screen surrounding the main big screen showing the Dolphins game.
Houston SRO's FM 1960 @ Cutten Road - 18 miles NW of downtown. Sports bar in northwest Houston near Willowbrook Mall. Shows all games on Sundays. Bar is divided up into individual seating areas. Largest game audiences get biggest screens and largest seating areas. A real good place to watch games.
Houston (Another) SRO's On Westheimer and Gessner. Address - 2517 S Gessner Rd, Houston, TX Phone: (713) 952-1999 There is now a second SRO that has opened in the last couple years, and it completely wipes the other SRO off the map, which most people now consider rather average. It is also more convenient, being 9 miles due West of Downtown near the intersection of Westheimer and Gessner (two major roads). The old SRO, which is still open but is incomparable, is 18 miles NW of downtown. The New SRO on Westheimer and Gessner used to be a movie theatre, and they converted the entire theatre into a sports bar. Needless to say, it is a massive place. It has a restaurant section, a bar section, a game room section (heck, it probably has more than one of each.. LOL) The number of TVs I is almost uncountable; dozens are viewable from every angle. They show all sporting events that is is possible to show, I do think. I noted that SRO managed to show every single preseason NFL game. All four Dolphin preseason games were shown. As you know, that is quite a feat, considering that most of those games are on local stations only, etc. It seems that there is always a professional satellite person there, as opposed to a place like Jonathan's in Nashville where the staff often keeps flipping channels till they find sporting events. The old SRO is still there, although it pales by comparison, and the company is clearly concentrating its focus on the new location It would be a feasible option though if someone lived or stayed NW of town and it was very convenient. Crowd is mixed in age, tends to be more white collar/upper middle class.
Houston Time Out Sports Bars There are 3 Time Out Sports Bars in the Houston area. They have satellite hook ups so you get to see the Dolphins no matter what. Visit their website at /www.timeoutsportsbars.com
